LP 7

The lesson plan is about teaching 7th grade students about circles and the terms related to circles. The lesson will begin with an introductory activity to review polygons and motivate the topic of circles. Students will then participate in a group activity where they will identify and label the different parts of circles. Finally, students will complete an evaluation activity where they will illustrate and label the key elements of a circle based on the teacher's instructions.

QUARTER THIRD

I. OBJECTIVES
A. CONTENT The Learners:
STANDARD Demonstrates understanding of key concepts
of geometry of shapes and sizes, and geometric relationships.

B. PERFORMANCE The Learners:

STANDARD Able to create models of plane figures and
formulate and solve accurately authentic problems involving sides
and angles of a polygon.

C. LEARNING The Learners:

COMPETENCY Illustrates a circle and the terms related to it: radius, diameter
chord, center, arc, chord, central angle, and inscribed angle.

D. SPECIFIC The Learners can:

LEARNING a. Identify the parts of a circle
TARGET b. Illustrate a circle and the terms related to it: center, radius,
diameter, chord, secant and tangent .
c. Develop the value of determination in acquiring the skill .

II. CONTENT Circles and The Terms Related to it

III. LEARNING a. References:

IV. PROCEDURE
A. INTRODUCTION a. Classroom Management
 Opening Prayer
 Greetings
 Attendance
b. Review
What is polygon?
What are those polygons?
c. Motivation
Bring Me!. In this game, the class will be divided into two
groups, the teacher will ask something, and the students will
provide, those group who first bring something to the teacher will
have their points.
Follow up question:
Based on the activity, what will be our topic for today?
B. INTERACTION Discussion:

C. INTEGRATION Activity!
The class will be divided into 7 groups, the teacher will
give one each circle with different letters, indicated with
the parts of the circles and the students will identify the
names of the questions stated below the circle. After that,
each group should assign one of them to report their answer
each of the question.

Criteria for scoring:

5 4 3
Loud and clear voice Moderate and clear clear
Correct all the answer Correct some of the answer Has answer
All member participated Some member participated One member participated
Processing questions:
Based on your activity you can give now the recap of the
things that we have discussed today?
So, you know already the parts or the terms related to a
circle?
Are you now ready for a test?

V. EVALUATION Direction: Illustrate me, with the indicated name.

On a 1/4 piece of paper, draw a circle with a center B, with two
diameters namely, segments AC, and DF, whose chords are AC,
DF, CF, and DG, a secant HI, and tangent JK intersecting A. (By
pair)
VI. ASSIGNMENT Study in advance about central angle, inscribed angle, and arcs of a
circle.

LIFE-LONG LEARNING How are you going to relate the topic in your life?
The use of a circle starts from the tip of the pen to the shape of
planets. Camera lenses, pizzas, Ferris wheels, rings, steering
wheels, cakes, pies, buttons, etc. are some real-life examples of
circles. Circles have uses in real life and their varied features,
including radius, diameter, circumference, and area.
