The Nicene Creed summarizes core Christian beliefs, beginning with belief in one God who created all things visible and invisible. It describes Jesus Christ as the one Word of God, born of the Father before all ages and through whom all things were made. The creed asserts that Jesus came down from heaven, was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became both fully God and fully man to redeem humanity. It concludes with beliefs in the Holy Spirit, the restoration of the Church, the forgiveness of sins through Baptism, and the resurrection of the dead and life everlasting.

The Ecumenical Nicene Creed
I believe in one God,
the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Word of God, born of the Father before all ages. through him all things were made. He came down from heaven, firstly as one true Law and Teaching for the People of Israel at Mount Sinai and then by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man, one Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of Man, to make us sons of man sons of God. He taught, healed, and raised people from the dead, By our evilness he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again to forgive us. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. And after he gives us time to repent and no longer want to crucify him He will return in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit of God, the giver of life, who has spoken through the prophets. I look forward for the restoration of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come and never go. Amen.
