01 1MVA Transformer Test Results First Farmers L247979C

The test report summarizes the results of insulation testing performed on an oil immersed transformer. Key findings include: 1) Insulation power factor and excitation current tests showed satisfactory results within expected limits. 2) Transformer turns ratio tests showed deviations below 0.5% across all phases. 3) Winding resistance and insulation resistance measurements were within 2-5% and had polarization indexes above 1, indicating good insulation quality. 4) Oil quality testing found the mineral oil met limits for color, clarity, tension, and neutralization. Overall, the transformer performed well across all tests, with no issues found.

Maximum power-factor/dissipation-factor values of liquid-filled transformers corrected to 20°C should be in accordance with
the transformer manufacturer’s published data. In its absence, the following can be used as representative values according
to ANSI/NETA MTS 2015 – Table 100.3 (Maintenance Test Values – Recommended Dissipation Factor/Power Factor at
20°C Liquid-Filled Transformers, Regulators, and Reactors.

Distribution Transformer Power Factor --- 1.0%

Remarks: Satisfactory test results.

Excitation Current Test

Excitation Current, milliamperes (mA)
Test Voltage
H1 – H2 H2 – H3 H3 – H1
1 kV 2.035 5.871 6.176

Typical excitation-current test data pattern for a three-legged core transformer is two similar current readings and one lower
current reading.

Remarks: Satisfactory test results.

Transformer Turns Ratio Test

X3- X0 1.108 mΩ X3-X0 & X1-X0 2.19

The resistances between phases should be within 2% - 5% of each other according to IEEE C57.152-2013 standards.

Remarks: Satisfactory test results.

The polarization index shall be greater than 1.0

Recommended minimum Insulation Resistance based on ANSI/NETA standards:

Transformer coil rating type in volts
0 – 600 volts = 100 MΩ
Greater than 5000 volts = 5000 MΩ

Test results are dependent on the temperature of the insulating material and the humidity of the surrounding environment at
the time of the test. Insulation-resistance test data may be used to establish a trending pattern. Deviations from the baseline
information permit evaluation of the insulation.

Remarks: Satisfactory test results.
