1. Please Read First!

1.1 About this Manual

Before using NT Control LT for the first time, you must read
this manual. In particular, observe the safety regulations
described in chapter 1.2.

Only persons authorized to operate and program the test


system may load test programs created with NT Control LT
onto the test box or make configuration changes via NT
Control LT on the test box.

Please note: NT Control LT is a variant of the adaptronic software NT Control


and is called NT Control in the following chapters of this man-
ual.
Supplementary documents

This manual describes the functional range of the NT Control


LT software and does not describe the test procedure itself.

For setting up a communication connection with an adaptronic


test box, please also refer to the hardware documentation sup-
plied with the test box.

Used symbols

The following symbols are used in this manual:

 Activity symbol: Text following this symbol describes an ac-


tivity. Such activities are to be performed sequentially from
the top down.
 Result symbol: Text following this symbol describes the re-
sult of an operation.
1.2 General Safety Regulations

In this chapter you will find all important safety regulations to be


taken into account when working with adaptronic test systems.

Every person involved in work on the test system (operation,


programming, etc.) must read and follow these general safety
regulations.

The protective devices of your test system are described in the


hardware documentation of your test box.

The hardware documentation is an integral part of the test sys-


tem documentation and, like this manual, must be read and fol-
lowed.

Proper usage

You may only use the NT Control LT software to program the


necessary test sequences of the test system, to load test pro-
grams into the test box or to read them from the test box and to
make configuration changes to the test box. The NT Control LT
software cannot be used for the real testing and logging of test
results.

Proper use also includes observance of this documentation,


other documents, observance of accident prevention regula-
tions for test benches and the operator's work instructions.

Selection and qualification s of the personnel

Basic knowledge of the used operating system are assumed.

Operation Only trained, instructed and authorized personnel are allowed


to operate NT Control.

Programming NT Control LT may only be programmed by trained, instructed


and commissioned personnel.

The programmer of the test system with NT Control LT should


have mechanical and electrical knowledge for programming the
test sequences. He should be familiar with the programming of
Windows-based applications.

2. Starting up NT Control LT

This chapter describes the start-up and the user interface of NT


Control.

2.1 Starting NT Control

Start NT Control via the button on the desktop or via the Win-
dows start button  All Apps  NT Control.

After the start the selection window "How would you like to
begin?" is displayed.

Select the option you want and follow the instructions in the re-
spective subchapters.

Open last test data

How to open the last used test program:

 Select “Open last test data:...“.


 Confirm with OK.
 The last test program used is opened.

Open existing test data

How to open an existing test program:

 Select “Open existing test data:...“.


 Confirm with OK.
 The "Open" selection window is displayed.

 Select the wanted test program.


 Confirm with “Open”.
 The selected test program is opened.

Create new test data

Here a new and empty test program can be opened and pro-
grammed with the corresponding editors.

2.2 User Interface

Here you will find information on the basic structure, information


contents and operating elements of NT Control.

The screen display of NT Control is divided into


 menu bar
 symbol bar
 document tree
 tool bar
 test program specific information
 status bar.

Menu bar

In the menu bar all functions of NT Control that can be exe-


cuted by the respective user are listed.

Tool bar

The toolbar provides context-sensitive functions for editing ta-


bles and other input fields in programming mode. Please refer
to the part 3 “Programming in NT Control LT” for further details.

Symbol bar

The most important functions of the menu bar are directly ac-
cessible via large buttons in the toolbar.

You will find these operating functions in the symbol bar:

Open existing test data

Select naming format

Exit NT Control

Display program information


and customer service address

Note: If you place the mouse cursor over a button, its


function appears as a tooltip.
