Network Administration - OSI Data Link Layer 2023

The data link layer performs two basic services: (1) it allows the upper layers to access the media and (2) it controls how data is placed onto the media and received from the media. The data link layer is responsible for media access control and framing of data. It attaches source and destination addresses to each frame and handles errors and flow control.

Network Media - is the actual path over which the signal travels as
it moves from one node to another.
