DESWIK.MDM 2023.2.2 - RELEASE NOTES

Deswik.MDM - 2023.2.2

Issue Key Customer Ticket Description

MDM-9267   When you install the Deswik.MDM processing server, you can now choose to use
Mesa 3-D graphics drivers for layout generation. If your processing server does
not have a GPU or drivers that support OpenGL 4.6, these drivers can assist in
rendering your Deswik graphics data.
MDM-9259   Previously, Deswik.MDM became unresponsive when checking out or checking in
some Update CAD Content tasks, requiring a reboot of the MasterHost service.
This issue has been fixed.
MDM-9252 SUPPORT-96682 Improvements have been made to data retrieval processes, increasing
Deswik.MDM's performance.

Deswik.MDM - 2023.2.1

Issue Key Customer Ticket Description

MDM-9250   Previously, if a spatial category and a survey station category had the same attrib-
ute configured as a Preview attribute, when the categories were loaded in Pre-
view, only values and aggregates for the survey station category were shown.
This issue has been fixed.
MDM-9238   Previously, in Deswik.MDM 2023.1.3 and Deswik.MDM 2023.2, when a workflow
was completed, the In Progress watermark was still visible on the final document
generated by the Prepare Document task until the document was regenerated.
This issue has been fixed.
MDM-9236   Previously, when checking out an Update CAD Content task, a temporary file was
sometimes generated in the C:\Windows\Temp directory instead of using the
configured FileProcessingDirectory. This issue has been fixed.
MDM-9220   Previously, when you checked in an Update CAD Content task, sometimes, in the
generated layout, the polylines were rendered differently to when they were
rendered in Deswik.CAD. This issue has been fixed.
MDM-9209 SUPPORT-96308 Previously, for some workflows, in progress entities were not visible in Preview
or in the Deswik.MDM plugin in Deswik.CAD. This issue has been fixed.

DESWIK.MDM 2023.2.2 - RELEASE NOTES

Deswik.MDM - 2023.2

The Deswik.MDM 2023.2 release focuses on usability improvements, performance optimizations, and general bug
fixes.

New features

Workflow board shows In Progress workflows by default

By default, when you first open Deswik.MDM, the Workflows board is filtered to display only In Progress workflows,
making the page load more quickly. If you choose to filter workflows based on a different status, Deswik.MDM will
remember your selection and apply it the next time you open the app.

 The more workflows that are displayed on the board, slower the page will load. For example, if you select the All filter, or
when the number of workflows in your system increases performance will be reduced.

DESWIK.MDM 2023.2.2 - RELEASE NOTES

Zoom in on checked-out CAD documents

If you check out the first Update CAD Content task in a workflow, when the checked-out CAD document opens in
Deswik.CAD, it now automatically uses the defined spatial bounds or the extents of the entities added to the
document to set the view port so that the entities of interest are immediately visible.

6
DESWIK.MDM 2023.2.2 - RELEASE NOTES

New icon on the navigation bar

A new icon has been added to the navigation bar. You can use this option to access the online help, support logs, and
the LANGUAGE CHOOSER.

7
DESWIK.MDM 2023.2.2 - RELEASE NOTES

Manually edit the Modified date value

To make its purpose clearer, during data source configuration, the Update records field has been renamed to
Modified date. When editing the sync settings for a data source, you can use the new Modified date value field to
define a "new" modified date. The next time the sync is run, instead of using the maximum Modified date that was
found when processing the last sync, the Modified date value is used to determine which records have been
modified or added and will therefore be synced.

 This option is available on when Skip existing records when syncing was switched on during data source

configuration.

DESWIK.MDM 2023.2.2 - RELEASE NOTES

Regenerate the Model Space in Preview

You can use the new Regenerate option on the Preview toolbar to regenerate the display in the Model Space.
This option is particularly useful if the complex line types used for some entities are not displaying correctly. Selecting
the Regen option regenerates the Model Space and displays the entities with complex line types correctly.

Workflow summary request filters

The workflow and task summary API endpoints have been extended with new optional request parameters that can
be used to filter the results returned from the server. Filtering the results can improve the performance of external
applications such as reporting dashboards by reducing the size of the response returned from the server. For more
information about the new parameters, see your swagger documentation (https://<yourservername>/mdm/swagger).

Performance improvements
Performance improvements have been made to workflow completion and file uploads and check ins.

DESWIK.MDM 2023.2.2 - RELEASE NOTES

Enhancements and bug fixes

Issue Key Customer Ticket Description
MDM-9191   Previously, the Keep me logged in option on the login screen was not applied
and a user would remain logged in until they logged out. This issue has been
fixed.
MDM-9169   Previously, if you had permission to edit a related list, but not the associated
managed lists, the Admin icon was not visible in the navigation bar. This issue
has been fixed.
MDM-9168   When you configure a related list, the list of available managed lists no longer
includes archived managed lists.
MDM-9167   Previously, on the Categories and Rules page, when you searched for a rule
using its description, an incomplete set of results was displayed. This issue has
been fixed.
MDM-9166   Previously, when editing permissions for a category, inactive roles were visible,
even if they were not in use. This issue has been fixed.
MDM-9124   Previously, when a user had administrator permissions for only the Categories
and Rules module, the Admin option was not visible on the navigation bar. This
issue has been fixed.
MDM-9093 SUPPORT-94382 A warning message was previously added to Deswik.MDM, informing users that
the first value from the managed list would be used as the default value for an
attribute. As the default value is now configured for the attribute, this warning
message is no longer relevant and has been removed.
MDM-9090   Previously, there was an issue with the Deswik.MDM installer, which may have
caused problems when running Deswik.MDM. This issue has been fixed.
MDM-9073   Previously, if survey station data contained duplicate or null ledger names, when
the data was migrated from Deswik.MDM 2018, the migration would fail. This
issue has been fixed.

 This fix requires:

 l Deswik.CAD 2023.1.685 or later.

 l Deswik.CAD 2022.2.1032 or later.

MDM-9071   In Deswik.MDM 2023.1 and 2023.1.1, if the Deswik.FeedServices DatabaseServer
name contained a backslash "\", Deswik.FeedServices would not start. This issue
has been fixed.
MDM-9041   Previously, if a Data Source synchronization was interrupted by the server
restarting, it would be left in a locked state and could not be restarted. This issue
has been fixed.

DESWIK.MDM 2023.2.2 - RELEASE NOTES

Issue Key Customer Ticket Description

 As part of the data migration for Deswik.MDM 2023.1.1, any Data Source that
was in a locked state at the time of migration will have its synchronization
schedule disabled. However, the schedule is still configured and can be enabled
again if required. If multiple Data Sources were previously not running because
of a locked state, disabling the synchronizations ensures that they will not
suddenly start running after the upgrade, which would put an unexpected load
on the system.
MDM-9017   Previously, when configuring a workflow definition, if you:

 1. Selected a reference category and set an attribute filter with a pre-selected
value for the second Update CAD Content task in the workflow.

 2. Selected a reference category and set the same attribute filter with a
different pre-selected value for the first Update CAD Content task in the
workflow.

When the second Update CAD Content task was checked out, the original pre-
selected value you defined for the task's attribute filter was selected, instead of
the value inherited from the first Update CAD Content task. This issue has been
fixed.
MDM-9013   Previously, if survey and interval segments did not match, the desurvey logic for
minimum curvature drillhole data sources in Deswik.MDM sometimes added
extra trace segments which resulted in a smoother drillhole position compared
with the Deswik.CAD desurvey routine. This issue has been fixed.
MDM-9010 SUPPORT-92948 Previously, if scheduled synchronizations for Data Sources failed, the tables in
the source system sometimes remained locked by the data sources process. This
issue has been fixed.
MDM-9005   Previously, when you configured an Update CAD Content task with pre-selected
filter values for data source reference categories, the values were not saved and
when the task was started, the pre-selected values were not selected. This issue
has been fixed.
MDM-8957   Previously, when a workflow was configured with pre-selected filter values for
the first Update CAD Content task, the values were not pre-selected on the
second Update CAD Content task in the same workflow. This issue has been
fixed.
MDM-8983   Previously, when you checked in an Update CAD Content task that contained
reference entities that were not stored in the file, sometimes the layouts that
were extracted did not include the entities. This issue has been fixed.

11
DESWIK.MDM 2023.2.2 - RELEASE NOTES

Issue Key Customer Ticket Description

MDM-8982   Previously, if an Update CAD Content task included survey reference categories,
but the entities were not saved in the DUF file, when you opened the file in
Deswik.CAD, the filters were not applied, and the Update Data Source option
was not available. This issue has been fixed.
MDM-8969   Previously, when checking out an Update CAD Content task, if you selected a
blank value for the attribute filter, the blank value was not displayed correctly in
the filter field. This issue has been fixed.
MDM-8952 SUPPORT-92959 Previously, some communication with the Deswik.MDM server was not routed
through the API gateway, causing some file uploads and loading of drillhole data
sources to fail. This issue has been fixed and only the API Gateway port needs to
be open for client to server communication.

 This fix requires Deswik.Suite 2023.1.722 or later.

MDM-8929   Previously, if your permissions for a group were removed while you were editing
a view from the group, when you tried to save your edits, the save failed but no
error message appeared. This issue has been fixed.
MDM-8845   Previously, in File Manager, if you pressed Enter when adding a comment for a
check in, the check in was submitted. This issue has been fixed.
MDM-8757   Previously, when configuring a workflow with two Update CAD Content tasks, if
you defined a CAD template for the first Update CAD Content task, you were still
able to select a CAD template for the second Update CAD Content task, but the
template was not used. This issue has been fixed, and the second Update CAD
Content task in a workflow now always inherits the CAD template defined for the
first Update CAD Content task in the same workflow.
MDM-8518 SUPPORT-90153 Previously, if a layer was not in the Update CAD Content template, when it was
added to the document, it was at the top of the LAYER CONTROL window in
Deswik.CAD. This issue has been fixed.
MDM-8348   Previously, in SiteView, entities were appended to a single layer associated with a
button, which caused problems when multiple categories with different
attributes were added to the same button. This issue has been fixed and entities
are now appended to a layer that contains both the button name and the CAD
layer name that was configured for the category in Deswik.MDM.
