Why Free Speech Should Have Limitations
Why Free Speech Should Have Limitations
The first reason why free speech should have limitations is because it causes fights.
Today when you are expressing your own thoughts then a person suddenly interferes and wants
to prove that his/her opinion is right than yours at any coast. Then he/she will argue that his/her
side is right and no information from anyone else will convince him/her otherwise. Like, that’s
just my opinion why he/she is interfering on it? Where’s my freedom of speech? Basically, it
means that now a day people can interfere your freedom of speech and won’t respect your
opinions it’s different from them.
The last reason why this should have some limitations is because some people are
abusing it. Freedom of speech is something like freedom of thoughts. This is why it is said
‘Speech is not limited to public only’. Some are abusing this in different ways. They can spread
false news or information. They can threat and defame others because they have the right to do
so. They can incite violence against other people by “Hate Speech”. Some can cause people to
endure verbal abuse. These are only a few of the reasons why “Freedom of Speech” should have
limitations.
Free speech is a double-edged sword because along with free speech comes hate speech,
two concepts that can often be difficult to distinguish from one another. It allows all of us to
express our opinions, thoughts, and ideas about something, no matter how sensitive our opinions,
thoughts or ideas might be.
