Background of the Study

The word "immersion" as it applies curriculum is defined as the department of

education (DepEd) order No. 40 Series of 2015. Work immersion refers to the part

of the Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum ensisting of 80 hours of hand-on

experience or work simulation which the grade 12 agriculture student may undergo

to expose them to the actual work place setting and to errich the competencies

provided by the school under Supervision of the school head and the designated

personel of the partner.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

This section contains different information and other related literature

and studies that serve as a firm background on the context of the recent

study. It serves as a foundation to support the results of the study. It also

provides valid and plausible interpretations.

Theoretical Lens

Theoretical FrameworkThe present study is anchored on the theory of

Experiential Education Theory whichstates that all programs that are

designed to expand the setting of learning experiences beyondthe traditional

school environment to occupational and community settings and these

programsuse planned experiences to promote cooperation between

traditional educational institutionsand business, industry, labor, government

and community groups to support learning. ThisTheory was first used in 1982

and was popularized by Juliet Miller. This theory is theresearchers’ guide in

determining the Challenges faced by the students in Work

immersion, because this theory explained that all programs are designed to

expand the setting of learningexperiences beyond the traditional school

environment to occupational and community settings. And the present study

discussed about the Challenges faced by the students in Workimmersion.

Grade 12 Agriculture Learners

Agriculture sciences include an alternative source of fresh produce, improved life

satisfaction and a way to preserve cultural identity and traditions. This research
study seeks to investigate the perception of Grade 12 learners On the effects of
urban agriculture on poverty eradication and food Security. The study adopts a
descriptive survey design. A validated structured questionnaire whose reliability co-
efficient is 0.81 was used to collect information. For having adequate learning,
reading, is compulsory. Continuous process o of learning can be defined as holding,
retrieval, attainment and efficient usage of accomplishment, power, knowledge and
competencies. Learning can be gained by different ways with various methods,
aims, levels, acceleration, areas, frequencies, and with different conditions (shastrri,
2013).
