controlled with two-way switch & stair lights shall be controlled with two way
switches. All switches shall be fixed/ flushed at a height of 140cm above finishing
2.5sqmm and the load calculation per socket is assumed to be 200W except at
kitchens. The socket outlets are grouped in such away as not to exceed 1.6KW per
circuit. Stove socket outlet shall be done with 4sqmm & 6mm2 and each socket
outlet shall have its own independent circuit with a load of 2Kw & 3KW
respectively. All wires and cables shall run in rigid thermoplastic conduit of
appropriate size (that confirm to DIN 49017) of not less than 16mm diameter
Socket outlets for flush and surface mounting shall be of the 3-pin schuko type
(with earthing contact) rated for 16A, 220A AC and shall confirm to BS1363.
Water proof socket outlets shall be used when the area is exposed to dust and
water. Socket outlets shall be fixed/ flushed at a height of 40cm above finishing
floor level.
The following formulas are used for calculating 1-phase and 3-phase current
respectively.
10 W/R FENTA GUEST HOUSE
Single phase current (I) in amperes for a given active power P in KW:
I 1ph = Px103 /V
Three phase current (I) in amperes for a given active power P in KW:
Power cables are selected in such a way so as not exceed a voltage drop of 4%
V% = (LxPx10) x100
( xAxV)
P = active power in KW
V = Voltage in Volts
Or alternatively Voltage drop can be calculated from the permissible voltage drop
I= Current in A
L= Length run in m.
But voltage drop is expected if the cable is run more than 50m. So, in our case
since no cables run more than this, voltage drop consideration is not required.
Pmax=79.24kw, 3ph
Three phase current (I) in amperes for a given active power P in KW:
=79.24x1000 /√ 3x380x0.80
=150.5A
This is the line Ampere. The nominal current in will be greater than the design
In=150.5x1.25=188.1A
So the standard breaker nearest to the nominal current is200A 3ph.Thus, the
corresponding cable size for this ampere will be 5x50 sq mm as shown on the
Pmax=4.16kw, 1ph
Three phase current (I) in amperes for a given active power P in KW:
I 1ph = Px103/V
=4.16wx1000 /220
=18.9A
This is the line Ampere. The nominal current in will be greater than the design
current. So to find in, multiply the design current with 1.25.
In=18.9x1.25=23.63A
So the standard breaker nearest to the nominal current is 25A 1ph. Thus, the
corresponding cable size for this ampere will be 3X4mmsq. As shown on the
distribution board schedule and power intake.
Pmax=19.45kw, 3ph
Three phase current (I) in amperes for a given active power P in KW:
=19.45x1000 /√ 3x380x0.80
=36.9A
This is the line Ampere. The nominal current in will be greater than the design
In=36.9x1.25=46.1A
13 W/R FENTA GUEST HOUSE
So the standard breaker nearest to the nominal current is 50A 3ph.Thus, the
corresponding cable size for this ampere will be 5x10 sq mm as shown on the
Pmax=6.27kw, 1ph
Three phase current (I) in amperes for a given active power P in KW:
I 1ph = Px103/V
=6.27wx1000 /220
=28.5A
This is the line Ampere. The nominal current in will be greater than the design
current. So to find in, multiply the design current with 1.25.
In=28.5x1.25=35.6A
So the standard breaker nearest to the nominal current is 50A 1ph. Thus, the
corresponding cable size for this ampere will be 3X10mmsq. As shown on the
distribution board schedule and power intake.

roof and distribute the signal via coaxial cables for television sets located in each
location.
All equipment shall be designed and rated for 220 volts, 50Hz supply and shall be
