Preparation

T o begi n,mount small

parts on chassics.

Mount neon lamps (NL-w & NL-r) with washers and nuts.
Mount NL-w into right hole and NL-r into left hole.
After soldering leadwires to neon lamps, mount Togle Switch
Mount RCA jacks .....white jack to left hole, red jack to right hole.
When mounting Togle Sw itch s, use masking tape to protect chassics from bruise b y plier.

Signal lead wire to 75 grid.

Use shielded wire between 75 grid and VR1.

Mount VR1 2pcs to chassics.

Knobs are screwed later.

There is plenty space inside chassics, you can use upgrade parts
like Western Electric plate resisters if you like.
The depth of chassics is 50mm.

Rear

Mount 4 each (total 8) speakers terminals .

Mount IEC inlet using 3mm bolts.

Mount Fuse Holder too.

Inside

Mount lug terminals ( L3 & L4 ) inside chassics (page 8) using flat top bolts .
Mount L1 (10P ML-3182) to solder idle wires of PT to the side of chassics.
The 30mm hole with 5 small ventilation holes is for rectifier socket.
Mount octal socket using 3mm bolts.

- 4 -
Electrolytic Capacitor

Mount block capacitor using mounting band and 3mm bolts and nuts.
Solder big blue filter capacitors to L4 (1L4P lug terminals).

↑ rear

↓ front

Subchassics

Mount UZ(6pin) & UX(4pin) sockets using B 3 (M3X8mm flat top black bolts)
and N 2 nuts.

Sub

cs
Use S2 (10mm spacers) for ① ∼ ⑦ .
Use bar terminal 'bolt for ⑧ & ⑨ .

- 5 -
Position pin 1 & 2 of both socket forward.
Mount L2 (20p ML-3182 lug terminal ) using S1 (6mm spacers) and N 2 nuts.

① This is bar terminal

Solder tin plated earth wire, Do not solder earth wire with too much tension.

Example
Solder capacitors
and resistors .

- 6 -
The paint on chassics is pretty thick.
Use Locking washe r (in the right picture) to screw subchassics to main chassics.

Twist wires which handle AC.

Right SW is power SW and left SW is B+ SW

which is turned on after all tubes are warmed up.

- 7 -
* When using HASHIMOTO or TANGO OPT, a few positions of L4 change.

RCA input jacks

Connect RCA input jacks to 250kΩ VRs which are wired before.
Mount grid wire bushes to chassics.
Penetrate shielded wires into bushes.
Mount subchassics after penetrating shielded wires.

Install power transformer using 4mm bolts & nuts and spring washers.

- 8 -
B+ Wiring

red wires Red wires are for B + .

Twist them and connect to 5V4G octal socket pin 4 and pin 6.

red/yellow wire Red/ yellow wire is center tap (CT) of B + winding.

Connect it to the left Togle SW to earth.

* When using HASHIMOTO or TANGO OPT, a few positions of L4 change.

Rectifier heater wiring

violet 5V violet wires are for rectifier heater.

grey Grey is center tap of 5V heater winding.

When you use direct-heated rectifier, take out B + high voltage

from this CT to protect rectifier filament.

5V4G is indirect-heated rectifier,please take out B + from pin 8.

- 9 -
75 heater wiring

green 6.3V green wires are for 75 heater.

Twist green wires and solder to pin 1 & 6.
green/yellow Green/yellow wire is CT of 6.3V.
Connect to earth point.

2A3 filament wiring

blue 2.5V blue wires are for 2A3 filament.

Twist blue wires and solder to pin 1 & 4.
blue/yellow Blue/yellow is CT of 2.5V winding.
Solder to 10P lug terminal board.
L1 (10P lug terminal board) is for idle wires.
When you do not use hum balancer, use this CT.

yellow and These wires are for 2A3 for channel B.

yellow/black

In the drawer line of the PT.

There are several codes not to use.
Be the right figure, it puts a lug
( L1 ) at the chassis side and gathers
one by one beforehand to this.

Install choke using 4mm bolts & nuts.

Connect 2 black wires to the big filter
electrolytic capacitor (20uF/600V)

Sound changes substancially whether you

connect winding start of the choke to
5V4G or not.
Change connection and decide it per your
taste.

- 10 -
Mount VR holder to the main schassics using big nut attached.
Screw Hum Balancer (with attached nut) into VR holder.
Position VR2 terminal to L3 (1L4P lug terminal).
Get rid of VR holder stopper by file before screwing in.

Earth point

Using mounting hole of the choke, make earth point of power supply section.
Get rid of chassics paint using cutter knife etc.

Output transformer is Magnequest DS-025.

Magnequest website http://www.magnequest.com/

75 shield

75 shield is not necessary.

- 11 -
Binding cords & wires are not necessary.
But if you like it is up yo you.

Power up and Test instruction

Without tubes and turning on power SW, make is sure that AC line is active
and there is not short circuit in the amplifier.
Put fuse in fuse holder and turn on power SW and make it sure neon lamp
is turned on.
Measure the voltage of all windings of power transformer.
If they look OK., turn off power SW.
Connect speakers or dummy loads to speaker terminals.
Put all tubes into the amp without turning on B + SW and make it
sure all filaments and heaters are light.
Measure voltage of filaments and heaters.
After tubes are warmed up, turn B + SW on and measure voltage of all tube pins.
If voltage is close to the schematic voltage, amplifier seems OK.

- 12 -
Bottom Cover

Mount rubber insulator using 4mm bolts & nuts. You may use adhesive tape.
Get rid of paint around holes.

Make chassics and bottom cover have conductivity using

Locking washer (in the right picture) .

Base Meter type

Up Grade Parts

You may use round meter, Western Electric hook up wire, tubes etc
as up grade parts
