ACCESSING VSPHERE
NOTE: DO NOT USE Firefox or Edge. They are known to send multiple key entries to VMs for every keypress on the user’s
physical keyboard. When working with your VM, you should use Chrome, which does not send multiple keys to the VM.
4. On successful login, you will be taken to the vSphere Web Client home screen.
5. To access your virtual machine, click the VMs and Templates button as shown in the image
below.a.Alternatively, you can pull down the Menu and click VMs and Templates.
6. In the Navigation pane on the left-hand side, expandINFOADC.mccinfo.net > INFOADC_Datacenter > INFO1111.
Then expand your class section. (i.e. INFO 1111 SN, WA, WW).
7. Pick the first available student VM. It will have a name like: stu01-CentOS.
8. Right-click it and select rename. Add a dash then your name to make it yours for the quarter.
9. Your VM should already be powered on. If not you can turn on or off your VM by right-clicking on it and
selecting Power then either Power on or Power off.
13. Your VM will open in a new tab. (Please make sure pop up blockers are turned off)
14. Once your VM is powered on you can access your Linux virtual machine. Use your mouse to swipe up to get to
the log in screen. Log in as Will with the password netlab123. See your individual projects for further
instructions.
