STUDY VISA: Document required when applying for study to Ireland

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL DOCUMENTS LISTED BELOW MUST BE INCLUDED WITH YOUR APPLICATION

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

All documents must be in English or translated by a sworn English translator (except for bank statements)

Instructions on how to apply for a visa

1. You must apply for a visa from your home country or a country where you are a legal resident
2. Create a visa application online
3. When finished, you will see a web page with important summary information. Print, sign and date these application summary sheets.
4. Prepare the required documents as described on the checklist below
5. E-mail jakartaemvisa@dfa.ie to request an appointment to submit your visa application, along with your passport and required
documents
6. If you live outside Jakarta and would like to send your application by post, please send them to the address below:

Important Notes

 Applicants are advised to submit the study visa application and documents 3-4 months in advance before the intended date of travel
 All documents should be dated within the 4 week period immediately prior to your application date
 You must submit the original documents, a copy of the original documents, and certified translations
 The visa officer reserves the right to request additional documentation, if required, in support of your application
 The provision of all of the documentation listed does not guarantee that a visa will be granted
 Visa applications take a minimum of 4 weeks to process.
 Visa appointments should be made by email. Late appointments will not be received
 People who are late for their appointments will not be met
 There is no visa application fee for Indonesian citizens
 For applications being submitted by post, original documents will be kept by the Embassy during the visa process
 Applicants must arrange their own courier or someone to collect the documents and passport with visa from the Embassy

o Your face must take up to 70% to 80% of the photo


o You must write the visa application number and name of the applicant on the
back of the photos

 Statement letter (sample attached) confirming that you will obey the conditions of
your visa in full, will not rely on public services, and will leave Ireland before the
expiration of your immigration permission

 A letter giving full details of the reason for studying in Ireland

The letter must include your full name and postal address in Ireland, the dates you
plan to arrive, the institution in Ireland where you will be studying, place of stay, and
who will be sponsoring your study expenses

 Your current original passport, valid for at least 12 months
 If you hold other passports, or had previous passports, you must also submit them
with a photocopy of each page from all previous passports you have. If you are not
able to do this, submit an explanation letter
 Copy of your current passport. This must include the bio-page, endorsement page, all
visa stickers issued, all pages that have entry/exit immigration stamps and signature
page

Your visa application will be refused if you do not disclose a previous visa refusal

 Details of any previous Irish visa applications you have made, including any which
were refused
 Details of any visa refusal(s) for any other country

 An original up-to-date signed letter from your or sponsor’s place of employment on
headed paper with full contact details of the signatory. The letter should confirm

o Your employment or sponsor employment status


o How long you or the sponsor have been employed there
o Your intention to study in Ireland
o Who will pay for your travel expenses

 The date you will be returning to work following study in Ireland and submission of
the latest 3 months’ salary payslips (sponsor)

 An original up-to-date signed letter from your place of business or sponsor’s on
headed paper with full contact details, and a copy of your business permit (SIUP)

The letter should confirm

o Your place of business


o Your reason to travel to Ireland
o Who is responsible for your travel costs and study expenses
o That you will be returning to your place of business or country of residence
following your visit to Ireland.
The letter must be signed by a third party or business partner or co-worker, and
not by the applicant as the business owner

 An original, signed and dated letter confirming your employment
 Recent correspondence relating to your self-employment from clients (screenshot of
communications, emails, online services platforms)
 Evidence of your income
Evidence of Funds/Finances: ☐ ☐ ☐
 Bank reference confirming your or your sponsor’s account
 Original bank statements (mutasi rekening) of you or your sponsor over the last 6
months, which must show details of your name, address, bank account number and
account type

Printed internet statements must be officially stamped/certified by the bank

 Proof of availability of sufficient funds to cover the cost of your visit to Ireland

Lump sum lodgements or bulk payments made shortly before your application will not
be accepted

 If a friend or family member in Ireland is helping to pay for your visit, your
friend/family member must provide

o An up-to-date bank statement following the same rules as described above


o Their most recent payslips
o Their most recent tax return document
o A letter from their employer that confirms they are employed
Please note that there is no set amount of funds that will result in the approval or refusal of
an application. The Visa Officer will decide whether you have enough funds based on your
application circumstances.

The ISD sites requires a minimum of 7,000 EUR for one study year and living expense
coverage

Letter of Acceptance from the Education Institution in Ireland ☐ ☐ ☐


 An up-to-date signed letter from the Higher Education Institution in Ireland on headed
paper with full contact details of the signatory. The letter should confirm

o Your acceptance on the Education Institution


o Name of the course or degree programme
o Duration of the course or degree programme
o Payment fee details (includes accommodation and insurance or not)

 Submission of proof of study fee transfer and confirmation receipt from the Education
Institution

 Original and legalized copy of the latest study certificate from your previous or latest
education institution

the medical insurance)

 Written consent from both parents that the child will be travelling to Ireland
accompanied by at least one parent, with a copy of the parents ID that clearly shows
their signature and the child’s original birth certificate

 For a child travelling with an adult who is not their parent or legal guardian (even if
they are an older family member), you must include:

- An original letter of consent signed by both of the child parents/legal


guardians
- A photocopy of each parent/legal guardian’s passport or national ID that
clearly shows their signature

If you are applying for more than one child, include a separate original letter and
photocopy of each parent’s passport/ID with each young person’s application

 For a child travelling alone, you must include:


- An original letter of consent signed by both of the child parents/legal
guardians
- A photocopy of each parent/legal guardian’s passport or national identity card
that clearly shows their signature
- Written consent from both parents that the child will be travelling to Ireland,
with a copy of the parents ID, authorized family member ID and the child’s
birth certificate
Residence Permission (For foreign nationals in Indonesia): ☐ ☐ ☐
 Original and copy of evidence of your permission to reside in Indonesia (KITAS, KITAP),
valid for at least 3 months after your date of departure from Ireland
Visa Fee (For foreign nationals in Indonesia): ☐ ☐ ☐
 Indonesian nationals do not have to pay for visas
 Foreign nationals must pay the visa application fee of IDR 1,000,000 for single entry
and IDR 1,700,000 for multiple entry, payable by bank transfer.
