A Journey By Bus

My name's Josh and I wanted to go to my aunt’s house in Betong.  I caught the bus

from Kuching city centre at 7.30 a.m. I paid the ticket cost, and I was given the tickets.  It

moved on, stopping here and there to take passengers. It halted at Pantu for some time.  I

had tea there. I ate some hot bread and rice cakes. I bought some more to eat on my journey.

Then the bus moved on. At Temudok, it turned right.  Now the look outside the bus was

interesting as it passed several villages on the way. There were food stands along the way.

We stopped again at Jelukong. It was lunchtime. I ordered chicken rice and iced milk tea.  I

bought some apples and cheesecakes for dessert. After an hour, the bus went on its journey.

At ten past three, the bus arrived in Betong town. I wanted to surprise my aunt, so I took a

taxi to her house. Twenty minutes later, it arrived at my aunt’s village.  She cried and held

me when she saw me, saying how much I look like my late grandfather.
