M/s Comstar Information Systems Associates Ltd completed preventive maintenance of Askari Cement Limited's (ACL's) 80-foot communication tower located at the roof of ACL's AWT building in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The maintenance included realigning the tower, cleaning and greasing accessories, replacing guy wires, painting the tower, and replacing accessories. M/s Comstar has certified that the tower is now in good working condition until its next scheduled maintenance in June 2018.

Subject: Preventive Maintenance of Communication Tower

1. 80 feet high communication tower was installed at the roof top of AWT building for radio
link between ACL (HO) and ACL (W) in year 2005. Presently radio link equipment of
WAN links of ACL (W) and ACL (N) are installed on this tower. Both links are operational
and required in future as well for ERP database replications.

2. M/s Comstar Information Systems Associates Ltd (having the expertise in tower
maintenance services) was contacted for inspection/preventive maintenance of said
communication tower. Technical rep of M/s Comstar physically inspected the tower and
forwarded the maintenance quotation, which is placed at Flag A for reference.

3. According to their technical recommendations following preventive maintenance work are


required on communication tower for its safety and strength.

a. Guy Wires Replacement

b. Re-alignment of Tower

c. Cleaning of Tower Segment, Greasing on tower accessories

d. Paint of Tower (Anti Rust / Red Oxide & ICI Paint)

e. Parts Replacement i.e Bulldog, Thimble, D-Shackles, SSNP.

4. Vendor also recommended installing Tower Red Light with Sun Switch on top of tower.
Presently, it is not installed on the tower.

5. Approval is requested for following.

a. Preventive maintenance of tower as stated in para 3 & 4 at a cost of Rs. 77,132/-


(Rupees seventy seven thousand one hundred thirty two only) by M/s Information
Systems Associates Ltd.

b. Advance payment of Rs. 77,132/- (Rupees seventy seven thousand one hundred
thirty two only) in favor of M/s Information Systems Associates Ltd.

6. Submitted for approval, please.

Preventive Maintenance of Communication Tower – Brief

1. 80 feet high communication tower was installed at the roof top of AWT building for radio
link between ACL (HO) and ACL (W) in year 2005. Presently radio link equipment of
WAN links of ACL (W) and ACL (N) are installed on this tower. Both links are operational
and required in future as well for ERP database replications.

2. Following preventive maintenance of tower was due.


a. Re-alignment of Tower
b. Cleaning of Tower Segment, Greasing on tower accessories
c. Guy Wires Replacement
d. Paint of Tower (Anti Rust / Red Oxide & ICI Paint)
e. Replacement of accessories (i.e Bulldog, Thimble, D-Shackles, SSNP).
f. Installation of Tower Light at top of tower.

3. IT department obtained from M/s Comstar for said maintenance activities and initiated the
case for prior approval.

4. In order to get the competitive rates, purchase department further obtained 2 x quotations
from market and processed the case for approval.

5. After getting approval, purchase department placed work order in favor of M/s Comstar.
The total cost of maintenance work was Rs. 67,905/- (inclusive of taxes).

6. M/s Comstar has successfully completed the maintenance work (listed in para 2 above) on
05 Jun 2017.
FITNESS CERTIFICATE
(14 June 2017)

This is to certify that M/s Information Systems Associates Ltd (Comstar) has
performed preventive maintenance activities on the ACL’s 80 feet high Guy Mast
Communication Tower installed on top of AWT Plaza, The Mall, Rawalpindi.

The following activities have been performed as part of the preventive maintenance of
the tower.
a. Tower has been re-aligned.
b. Cleaning of Tower Segment, Greasing on tower accessories has been performed
c. Guy Wires have been replaced.
d. Anti-Rust / Red Oxide & ICI Paint has been applied on the tower
e. Replacement of accessories (i.e Bulldog, Thimble, D-Shackles, SSNP) has been
done.
f. Tower Light has been installed on top of the tower.

Next Preventive Maintenance Due in: June 2018.
