It is indubitable that people have become unprecedentedly well intrigued with the taste of availing expensive
and lavish garments. As a consequence, a significant number of people are giving more preference to possessing
such fashionable attires being inconsiderate about other aspects. This essay will not only discuss why it is a
negative development but the reasons for my inclination will also be articulated in trailed paragraphs.
In the inception, there are umpteen reasons to justify my views. The first and foremost, it may create
disturbance in one’s life as in regards with financial aspects. To be more precise, especially juveniles under the
influence of escalating fashion trends and peer pressure are unable to think wisely and pester in front of parents
to own pricey apparels. Ultimately, resulting in upsetting family budget. Another prominent reason under the
consideration is, this sensation of acquiring varied kinds of dresses has not only affected funding for an
individual but also has ushered to undesired impact on vernacular culture and tradition. Categorically
discussing, it cannot be ignored that, clothes are inexplicably linked to the culture and since people have been
more persuaded by foreign raiments, this has lead to disappearance of national identities and lack of cultural
diversities. To quote an instance, majority of eminent indian personalities favour for western attires during any
national or international functions and celebrations.
Probing ahead, one of the main underlying reasons in this regard could be, there are myriad of detrimental
effects on environment because of this mania. To elaborate, as demand of stylish and funky garments increases,
manufacturing rate has upsurged. The plastic fabrics and embellishing materials being used in producing such
clothes increases the pollution not only amid the process of recycling these costumes but also when waste
textiles are disposed in an unaccountable manner. To quote an instance, carben dioxide produced during
recycling of old clothes is nearly 3 times the pollution done by exhaust fumes in automobiles. Moreover, influx
of foreign brand may cater negative impact on local trade focusing on native culture style by eliminating them
out of business.
To recapitulate, even though, focusing excessively on fashion will result into tremendous flourishment of
garment industries. I firmly assert that financial upheavals in families and environmental problems should be
given more priorities than considering dapper funky clothes.
