House Rule Health: for speedier combat and to account for players starting with reduced
health totals.
50% Health for typical specimen, 1 Health for a minion
75% to 100% for leaders
100% boss battles
“+” = standard threat for the upper levels in the threat range (e.g. levels 3-4 minor), considered
hard for the bottom half
“-“ = simple threat for upper half, standard for lower half
Numbers Appearing: roughly 1:1 or characters +1 for foes that travel in packs, like humanoids
(e.g. 4 genlocks on a neutral site is expected to be a standard threat for 4 characters of levels 3-4
and dangerous for levels 1-2).
Monsters expected to be solo, like a demon or ogre, do not appear in groups. Bosses should have
minions of around 2 lower threat levels due to action economy, though an Ogre can decimate a
low-level party.
So that battles aren’t always an equation, be fluid with adding reinforcements like minions to
battles (drawn by the noise of battle or still arriving on the scene), and while Morale is not a
rule, most creatures except the dead don’t fight to the death.
Conversion to FA 2E? Just leave them as-is. DA spell users will utilize the DA rulebook, so the
DM may want those pages quick referenced for ease.

FA creatures I don’t think fit Dragon Age, or just aren’t needed (e.g. a cat) are still listed at
bottom for reference for non-DA games. MI has no threat level listed in its bestiary, but since
DA needs more humanoids, best estimate per rough guidelines.
