Abrasion Test

The test results showed that the aggregate base course sample met all specification requirements. Sieve analysis showed the sample had 100% passing the 50 mm sieve, 94.6% passing the 37.5 mm sieve, and percentages within specification limits for sieves 25 mm to 0.075 mm. Liquid limit, plasticity index, sand equivalent, and Los Angeles abrasion values were within specification limits. Maximum dry density and optimum moisture content were determined to be 2.175 g/cm3 and 7.6%, respectively. California bearing ratio was 120%, exceeding the minimum requirement of 100%. The sample was approved for use in the project.
