Answer all questions.

1. (a) The rate constant for decomposition reaction of C2H6 is X s-1.

(i) Write the differential rate equation for the above reaction.

(ii) Calculate the rate constant X, when 5% C2H6 is decomposing for 6.75 minutes
at temperature 500K.

(iii) Calculate the half-life for decomposition of reaction above.

and hydroxide ion. Hence, write the rate equation for this reaction.

2. (a) When 40cm3 of 1.00 M HCl is added to 60cm3 1.00M NaOH in a calorimeter, the
change in temperature is 4˚C.Calculate the enthalpy of neutralization for the reaction.

formation of ethyne, C2H2.

(b) Determine the product at cathode and anode.

(c) If 0.50A current is supply for 5 hours, calculate quantity of charge in Faraday.

(ii) Write the chemical equation when X is treated with Hinsberg’s reagent.

(b) Arrange the following amines in order of decreasing solubility in water. Explain.
