Questions and Answers!


Q - What other modules are involved in the BCM reset/programming
procedure?

A – The SDM and IPC are involves in the BCM programming.

Q – Can opcom/Vauxcom program a USED BCM.

A – Opcom/Vauxcom can program a USED BCM providing the donor BCM has
been reset before removal from the donor car.

Q – Can opcom/Vauxcom program a NEW BCM direct from Vauxhall?

A – Yes.

Q – Ive not got my passcode for my car – what can I do?

A – If you do not have your passcode then you must apply for it from Vauxhall.
You will need your V5 in your name and 2 forms of ID. There is a cost for this
service which is normally around £35.

Q – What can I do if the donor BCM has not been reset and I don’t have the
passcode?

A – If it is just an BCM by itself then you cannot use this unless you can have
the code pulled from the BCM EEPROM. (opcom does not support this).

Q – Can I still use the donor BCM if it has not been reset but has the passcode
with it?

A – Yes. You can fit it to your car and reset using the donor code

WARNING – Before resetting the BCM you must check that you can access
the SDM and IPC(instrument) and each system will accept your passcode. If
any of the systems do not accept the passcode DO NOT reset the BCM and
see further advice.
BCM Reset

To reset the BCM you must do the following:-

Connect opcom to your vehicle and turn ignition on and start the
Opcom/Vauxcom program.

Connect to the BCM by following these steps.

High Speed Can Configuration> [make note of ALL settings] – exit back to
programming
Mid Speed Can Configuration> [make note of ALL settings] – exit back to
programming
Low Speed Can Configuration> [make note of ALL settings] – exit back to
programming
Variant Configuration> [make note of ALL settings] – exit back to programming
Immobiliser Programming>
Security code>[Enter 4 digit pass code]
Reset BCM > [you will get a warning] – accept the warning

The BCM is now reset to factory state.

If you are changing the BCM then you must disconnect the battery before
changing the BCM then reconnect afterwards.

BCM programming

To program the BCM you must do the following:-

Connect opcom to your vehicle and turn ignition on and start the
Opcom/Vauxcom program.

High Speed Can Configuration> [Set HS-CAN configuration and Press program]
– exit back to programming
Mid Speed Can Configuration>[Set MS-CAN configuration and Press program] –
exit back to programming
Low Speed Can Configuration>[Set SW-CAN configuration and Press program]
– exit back to programming
Variant Configuration> [Set Variant configuration and Press program] – exit
back to programming menu
Immobiliser Programming>
Security Code>[Enter you 4 digit code]
Program Immobilise Function>Select “BCM Installed” and “Do it”!
Program VIN>[Enter VIN] – click program (VIN on passcard or V5)
Program MKN>[Enter MKN] – click program (MKN on passcard)
Program Transponder Keys> [Follow onscreen instructions]

The programming of the BCM is now complete.

Exit the program and turn ignition off. Wait 60 seconds and you must now
reset the SDM and IPC.

You now need to reset the SDM

Reset/Program SDM

Diagnostics>

SDM>
Programming>
Vin number programming>[Make a note of VIN]
Low speed CAN configuration [make a note of configuration]
Program ECU>
SDM Configuration[make note of the configuration]
Reset SDM[enter 4 digit passcode] and OK
Reset is complete. Exit program and turn ignition off for 60 seconds

Program SDM

Diagnostics>

SDM>
Programming>
Program ECU>
Program SDM[enter 4 digit passcode] and YES
Program VIN and OK
SDM configuration>[check this and set IF required]
Exit back to the programming menu>
Low speed CAN configuration>[Set configuration and press program]

SDM reset is now complete. Exit program and turn ignition off for 60 seconds.

You must now reset the IPC

IPC Reset

Diagnostics>
Year>
Corsa D>
Body>
IPC>
Programming>
Low speed CAN Configuration>[Make a note of settings}
Programming>
Security code>[Enter 4 digit passcode]
Reset IPC> Accept the warning and press YES>

The IPC reset is now complete. Exit program and turn ignition off for 60
seconds

Program IPC>[enter 4 digit passcode] Accept the warning and press YES>
Program VIN>[enter VIN and press OK] Accept the warning and press YES>
Back to programming screen>
Low speed CAN Configuration>[Set configuration and press program]

The IPC programming is now complete. Exit program and turn ignition off for
60 seconds.

You must now clear all codes in all modules.

The BCM programming is now complete and you will be able to start your car.
