Modpack by Darkinteger User Manual (Ver 1.0)

This document summarizes a pack of Max for Live devices called "modPack" that can be used to modulate parameters in Ableton Live. It includes 27 different devices that generate modulation signals or route audio/MIDI signals, such as LFOs, envelopes, logic gates, and probability/routing devices. Instructions are provided on installing the device pack for Windows and MacOS. Each device is then briefly described including its purpose and key parameters.

modPack by darkInteger

Thank you for purchasing this pack of max for live devices.

You can use these for modulating parameters inside Ableton Live.
These devices has outputs for modulating parameters but has inputs too to receive
modulation signals from other devices, this opens up new possibilities to build your own
modulation system.

adsr /audio & midi device/

This device generates 2 ADSR envelopes when input is triggered (value 1 received)

leg (button): if disabled the envelope will start its cycle from zero
trg (button): if disabled the release stage will not start until the input is 1

clockedGate /audio & midi device/

This device will generate 3 gate signals synched to Ableton's clock

division (rool down): you can choose between several divisions

combiner /audio & midi device/

This device will combine 3 input signals, you can add or multiply the signals

multiply (slider): multiplies the input signal

offset (slider): offsets the input signal

envFollower /audio device/

This device takes the incoming audio signal and converts it to modulation

input (roll down): select which audio channel is used

LP (slider): lowpass filter on the audio signal
HP (slider): highpass filter on the audio signal
SLEW up (slider): interpolates the upward signal
SLEW down (slider): interpolates the downward signal
multiply (slider): multiplies the input signal
offset (slider): offsets the input signal
fader /audio & midi device/

You can use the slider to fade between 2 input signals

fold /audio & midi device/

You can fold or warp 3 input signals

amount (slider): fold or warp amount

mode (roll down): choose fold or warp method
lfo /audio & midi device/

Simple low frequency oscillator with 5 waveforms and beatsync

freq (slider): lfo frequency

T (button): retriggers the lfo phase
phase (slider): sets the phase of the waveforms
wave (slider): choose sine, ramp up, ramp down, triangle or rectangle waveform
syncTime: choose the division to sync to
syncOn (arrow next to freq): enables sync

logics /audio & midi device/

4 logic devices in 1, does mathematical logic operations on 2 input signals

midiMap /midi device/

Converts midi information into modulation signal

multiply (slider): multiplies the input signal

offset (slider): offsets the input signal

msGate /audio & midi device/

Generates gate signal in a time based fashion

run (button): on/off button

R (button): restart
ms (number): gate frequency in millisecond
multDelay /audio & midi device/

Routes1 input to 6 outputs, you can set delay time for each output

multiply (slider): multiplies the input signal

offset (slider): offsets the input signal
delay (number): delays the signal in milliseconds

multiMult /audio & midi device/

Router 1 input to 3 outputs (x2)

multiply (slider): multiplies the input signal

offset (slider): offsets the input signal
noteGate /midi device/

Converts midi note information into gate signal

gate (button): the gate signal is 1 until the note is on

trigger (button): a short gate signal is generated when note received

probs /audio & midi device/

4 probability devices in 1
If input is 1 then output will be 1 by the chance set with the prop (slider)
reMapper /audio & midi device/

Remaps the input signal on the coordinate system

Input is the horizontal axis, output is the vertical axis

router2, router4 /audio & midi device/

Routes input signal to either 1 or 2 output

router (number): sets the routing

(router4 is the same except it has 4 outputs)
s&h /audio & midi device/

Sample and hold signal generator with internal noise source to sample and slew limiter

multiply (slider): multiplies the input signal

offset (slider): offsets the input signal
noise (button): if on the internal noise generator will be sampled
S (button): samples the input signal or the noise generator
SLEW up (slider): interpolates the upward signal
SLEW down (slider): interpolates the downward signal

scope, scopeWide /audio & midi device/

input1, input2, input3 (buttons): on/off switch

zoom (slider): zoom in/out
(scopeWide is the same except it has 6 inputs and it is twice as wide)
select2, select4 /audio & midi device/

You can select either input1 or input2 to be routed to output

(select4 is the same except it has 4 inputs)

slew /audio & midi device/

It is 4 slew devices in 1

up (slider): interpolates the upward signal

down (slider): interpolates the downward signal
stepMapper /audio & midi device/
