9. CLASS POLICY
1. Attendance and Participation. The attendance of the students is graded under Class Standing which takes 20% of their general rating along with Quizzes,
Activities and Participation. The teacher will conduct a roll-call before the actual discussion of lessons. During this time, the students must be present and
must remain until the end of the session as reflected in the class schedule. The participation of students is graded separately depending on the recitation
and contribution of the students to the discussion. Every time a student recites, the teacher will rate the quality of content and delivery from 1-5 points (five
being the highest). Quality comments possess one or more of the following properties: (1) offers a different and unique, but relevant, perspective; (2)
contributes to moving the discussion and analysis forward; (3) builds on other comments; (4) transcends the “I feel” syndrome, that is, it includes some
evidence, argumentation, or recognition of inherent tradeoffs - the comment demonstrates some reflective thinking. This will be recorded directly to the
Class Record in excel form.
2. Excuse Letter and Support Evidence. No make-up activities, exercises, or post- and any tests are to be given to an absent student without a valid reason.
In cases of illness, a medical certificate must be provided together with an excuse letter signed by a parent or guardian.
3. Quizzes and Activities. The students will take a total of (5) quizzes-3 short quizzes and 2 long quizzes for the whole semester. The quizzes of the students
will be conducted every after a discussion of sets of relative lessons. However, the schedule may be subjected to changes. The activities will be conducted
based on the learning plan. As soon as available, the scores will be recorded directly to the Class Record. The students shall affix their signature to the
Acknowledgment Form whenever the quizzes and activities are returned.
4. Self-directed Learning. The students will be provided with handouts and a list of additional references which they should search for. The discussions will
be based from the references. However, the handouts which will not be covered during the discussion are understood to be reading assignments. Self-
directed learning is required. The teacher may be consulted with inquiries regarding the topics during the time scheduled for the class and consultation.
5. Mode of Communication. Formal inquiries can be either be done through approaching the instructor on her desk during consultation schedule or you can
send your messages thru my Messenger account. Please be reminded that if I do not reply to your messages at times, please refrain from taking offense
hastily. Kindly exercise patience and consider following up with me on the subsequent day.

6. Missed Classes. Regular classes may not always be possible due to scheduled meetings, travel, and other commitments. In such cases, I usually furnish
modules or handouts for you to review and study on your own. This approach enables us to effectively compensate for any missed lessons.
7. Complaints and Suggestions. Complaints and suggestions must be done properly. In case of concerns regarding grades, subject, instructor, etc., the
student must approach the instructor first and fill in the consultation log as provided. If the concern is not addressed during the initial talk, the student may
proceed to the college dean for assistance. Students with complaints who will directly proceed to the dean without initial consultation with the instructor will
not be entertained.
8. Cheating. Cheating in any form (e.g. unauthorized possession of notes or materials relative to the examination, deliberately looking at fellow students’
examination papers, copying from or allowing another copy from one’s examination for another, talking with one another without permission during an
examination, passing as one’s own work any assigned report, term paper and the like when copied from another source) is a major offense punishable by
suspension and/or expulsion (excerpt from Student’s Handbook Article V, Section 2.2.1A item 8.
9. Class Etiquette and Behavior. All students in class must act politely and respectful towards the other members of the class. Any disrespectful action of the
students must be subjected to the guidance office for counseling and action. Moreover, students are highly discouraged to use mobile phones during the
class unless it is for the assigned activity.
10. Changes in the Class Policy. The instructor reserves the right to modify the class policy if necessary. Any changes will be communicated to the students
promptly.
11. Submission of Requirements. The students will be provided with guidelines detailing the mechanics, criteria and deadline of the identified major outputs.
Failure to submit any of the outputs will result to an INC.
