Jowa Seaguard Battery

The JOWA SEAGUARD requires minimal maintenance, including cleaning the sensor weekly with a brush and performing an automatic flush. Monthly, a zero calibration of the sensor should be done after ensuring the water is clean and bubble-free and the reading is close to 0 PPM. Every 2 years, the battery inside the control unit must be changed. During IOPP certificate renewal surveys every 5 years, the accuracy of the 15 ppm Bilge Alarm should be checked according to the manufacturer's instructions, which can be done by sending the sensor back to Jowa, getting a new calibrated sensor with a 30% credit for returning the old one, or having a Jowa service engineer check the sensor onboard.
