The clients wanted their room to have a mid-century
modern feel which was their preferred style from their
NYC days. At the same time, they also wanted to continue
the tropical vibes from downstairs. Thus, the decision
was made to keep the look of the bedroom and balcony
distinct, one with modern hints while the other evoked
resort vibes. The main bedroom had an odd window cut-
out that extended across half the wall where the bed was
to be placed. Thus, a carefully colour-matched curtain was
added to create the optical illusion of a complete wall.

GIVEAWAY

We are giving away seven

Travelpillo Meds from
dormiente worth $130 each.

Investing in a good mattress and high-quality

bedding is second nature to most homeowners,
seeing the bedroom as a sanctuary of rest and
relaxation. But our sleep quality is often neglected
once we leave our home and hit the road—and
it particularly suffers on long-haul flights, where
uncomfortable airplane seats reign supreme.
If you tend to leave the plane, bus or car
feeling stiff and tired, get your hands on a good
travel pillow, such as dormiente’s Travelpillo Med,
which is versatile and height-adjustable for the
best sleep on the go. The gentle bounce of the
natural latex helps to relax muscles and ease
tension. The elastic material also makes the pillow
extra easy to transport as it is lightweight and can
be compressed to fit into your hand luggage.
The Travelpillo Med is entirely machine-
washable, so you can remove germs and
bacteria from even the longest of journeys without
any fuss. Allergy sufferers will additionally love the
removable organic cotton pillow case which is
gentle on the skin and keeps allergens at bay no
matter where you are.

EPILOGUE

H E AT I N G U P
Green and blue kitchens have enjoyed a good run. Now we’re seeing pink
kitchens making the rounds. It’s not for everyone, but the colour is more
versatile than you think. It’ll go well with practically any shade so you won’t
have to worry about appliances or hardware clashing against the backdrop,
and it even casts a flattering tone on everyone who comes in. By switching up
the tone and complementary fixtures, you could really vary the look. Create
an edgy vibe with hot pink accents or a peaceful atmosphere with a barely
pink palette. Pair with concrete for an urban take, marble for a classic and soft
appearance, or wood if your decor leans more mid-century.
