Earth Science 10 DBOW

This document outlines the content standards and performance standards for Science 10 Quarter 1 on Earth and Space. The content will cover plate tectonics including the distribution of volcanoes, earthquake epicenters and mountain ranges; types of plate boundaries; processes at plate boundaries; causes of plate movement; and evidence that supports plate movement. Learning activities are scheduled over several class periods and will include maps, illustrations, presentations and assessments.

SCIENCE 10

QUARTER 1: EARTH AND SPACE

Content Standard: The learners demonstrate an understanding of the relationship among the locations of volcanoes, earthquake
epicenters, and mountain ranges.
Performance Standard: The learners should be able to:
1. demonstrate ways to ensure disaster preparedness during earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions; and
2. suggest ways by which he/she can contribute to government efforts in reducing damage due to earthquakes, tsunamis, and
volcanic eruptions. ACCOMPLISHED/ Classroom
