INTRODUCTION:
Cyberbullying:
Cyberbullying, also known as cyberharassment, is an electronic form of bullying or harassment.
Online bullying includes cyberbullying and cyberharassment. As the digital environment has
grown and technology has evolved,it has become more widespread, particularly among
youth.Cyberbullying is when someone is harassed, threatened, or intimidated through cell
phones, instant messaging, e-mail, chat rooms, or social networking sites like Facebook and
Twitter. Children, who have increasingly early access to modern technology, are frequently
involved in cyberbullying.Cyberbullying is a well-known issue all over the world. Most of the
time, cyber bullying goes unrecognised as actual bullying, yet it may be extremely destructive,
and even lethal. Although more individuals are speaking out against it, there are still many
cyber bullies out there. Cyberbullying is a type of bullying that takes place online, is typically
anonymous, and tries to damage and humiliate the victim. There are several types of
cyberbullying, each with its own set of reactions and repercussions. However, few research
have looked into how teenagers perceive cyberbullying. bullying that occurs over digital devices
such as cell phones, laptops, and tablets is known as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying can take place
offline in social media, forums, or gaming where people can watch, participate in, or share
content, or online in social media, forums, or gaming where people can view, participate in, or
share content. Sending, uploading, or spreading unpleasant, harmful, misleading, or nasty
content about someone else is considered cyberbullying. It can involve embarrassment or
humiliation caused by sharing intimate or private information about another individual.
Cyberbullying can sometimes cross the line into illegal or criminal action.
The following are the most prevalent locations where cyberbullying occurs:

 Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Tik Tok are examples of social media platforms.
 On mobile or tablet devices, text messaging and messaging apps are available.
 Online chatting, instant messaging, and direct messaging are all forms of internet
communication.
 Reddit and other online forums, chat rooms, and message boards
 Contact online gaming communities via email

Examples;
Bullying that occurs through the use of digital technology such as cell phones, email, and social
media platforms is known as cyberbullying. The following are examples of cyberbullying:

 Pranking
Hang-ups on a regular basis, as well as anonymous, ridiculing, or threatening phone calls.

 Sharing of images
Without authorization, forwarding or sharing unfavourable or private images.

 Images that are sexually explicit


People of all ages should be informed that forwarding or sharing photos of a sexual nature of a
person under the age of 18 is a criminal offence (child pornography) that can lead to
prosecution.

 Email and text messages


Texting or emailing disrespectful or threatening remarks.

 Personal data on the internet


Spreading rumors online or publishing someone’s private, intimate, or embarrassing
information without their permission.

 Theft of one’s identity


Assuming someone’s identity online and portraying them in an unfavourable light, causing
harm to their reputation or relationships.

 Sites that promote hatred


Creating hate sites or using social networking sites for social exclusion campaigns.
When a student, or a group of students, utilises technology to launch a multi-step
campaign to bully another student, this is also known as cyberbullying. Setting up another
student to be abused, videotaping their humiliation, putting the videotape online, and then
forwarding the website URL to others is an example.

Social Media:
Social media is a type of communication that is entirely dependent on the
internet. Human engagement is possible through social media.For as long as they
are creating,%,or switch around their facts and figures As an alternate collecting
concept Users Engross yourself in social media via a Through a computer, tablet,
or cell phone software or programes that are entirely or partially reliant on the
internet. Use of social media. Expands into new updates via planned new web
pages, applications, and services.structures relating to education, recreation, and
fitness, for example Social media is nothing more than a deal .Humans use this
platform to build new acquaintances and share their ideas. Even human beings
are developing new identities as a result of their thoughts and actions. Social
media makes things easier.Pupils to a totally new way of learning and favouring.
According to research, students who use social media on a regular basis are more
likely to be successful.
Human beings understand and engage with one other in new ways thanks to
social media. It gives everybody the ability to contribute, making the world more
open and connected. Social networking has a significant impact on our lives
because it facilitates several activities. Like the political, economic, and
educational areas, each discipline of lifestyles has its own set of rules. Every day, a
billion people view movies on YouTube. Each hour,Customers can contribute
video content. Every day, about ninety percent of college students,Students visit a
social media website. People have embraced social media into their lives.Social
media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, as well as online gaming
They bring different environments and eras into their daily lives.

Among the characteristics of social media that are mentioned are:

 Network. Social media has a social networking feel to it. Social media is
made up of social structures that have developed over time in networks or
on the internet. Networks generated between users are technologically
mediated networks mediated by technology equipment such as
computers.Mobile phones and tablets are both acceptable options. Users
soon developed networks in the form ofFacebook, Twitter, and other social
media platforms are examples of such communities.
 Information. Users consume information as a commodity on social media.
The commodity is essentially a product that is created and distributed by
the consumers. Users develop a network as a result of this consumption
activity, which may or may not lead to networked community institutions.
 For social media users, the archive takes on the role of a figure who says
that material has been saved and may be accessed at any time and on any
device. Any information posted on Facebook does not simply vanish with
the passage of time, be it days, months, or even years.
 Interactive. The creation of networks between users is the fundamental
feature of social media. This network must be established by interactions
between people rather than simply expanding friendships or followers on
the internet.
Incidence of cyber bullying
Several examples of electronic bullying are obvious in the literature and are
frequently recorded; among them, the incidents described by various
scholars in the previous two years are as follows:
According to Erentait et, 35 percent of students are cyberbullied. SMS , chat
rooms, and instant communications are examples of such mediums.
Mishna et pointed out Discovered that half of all kids participate in
cyberbullying, either as a victim or as perpetrators. Making other students
victims; only 38.5 percent of them disclose such events, and 27.5 percent
do not. They both admitted that they engage in bullying others. 26.9
percent of them tell their elders about it. Heirman & Walrave reported a
rate of cyberbullying of up to 12.1%, with half of them being victims of
cyberbullying.
It has been determined that 84 percent of students are being targeted for
cyberbullying on public platforms, with 78 percent of them viewing such
incidents as more embarrassing than others. In the majority of situations,

recently been discovered that 4% of students receive Engaging in

Cyberbullying is when someone is harassed, threatened, or intimidated
through cell phones, instant messaging,e-mail,chat rooms, or social media
sites like Facebook and Twitter. Children who have early access to these
tools are more likely to engaged in cyberbullying..

Bullying, according to (Coloroso, 2006) in (Nuha, 2014), will always


have the following four elements:
 Indicates a power imbalance (imbalance power). Bullying isn’t a rivalry
between siblings, nor is it a conflict between two equals. Bullying can be
perpetrated by someone who are older, bigger, stronger, more verbally
skilled, and have a greater social status.
A different race, or have a different social rank.
 Want to be wounded. There are no mistakes or accidents in bullying, and
no unintentional victim exclusion. Bullying include activities that might
cause emotional or bodily harm, as well as feelings of joy in the
perpetrator’s heart as a result of observing the victims’ suffering.
 Further aggression is a threat. Bullying is not intended to be a one-time
incident, but rather something that is repeated or has a tendency to be
repeated.
 Terror Bullying is a form of systematic violence meant to frighten others
and preserve power. Terror is not just a means of achieving bullying, but it
is also the goal of bullying.

The result or Response of our survey is about cyber bulling most of the female
harrassed and mostly people even don’t aware about cyberbullying and student
perception about cyberbullying mOst of the students discussed issues in university and
have attention on it and many people think cyberbullying be discussed on CIS 101
mostly people spend more time in social media ,students think that social media is the
main source of harrasment and cyberbullying is the useof technology to
harass,threaten and embarrassed , cyberbullying activities which involves disturbing
and defaming some one’s reputation

are not most of the people think that suicide is not the solution we can aware people
by advertisement and by teaching an aware our youngester and spread awareness
about it, cyberbullying is a bad thing and we should protect ourself and our social social

The most applications that people use our WhatsApp ,Facebook Instagram and
Snapchat and Twitter this application are also used for cyber bullying and cyber bullying
involves harassment embarrassment in the rest which involve disturbing and defaming
someone’s reputations in his life. The applications most used to harassed and molest
someone and depressed someone in his life and defame someones life
Depression has been connected to cyberbullying.

According to the new research, cyberbullying is connected to a much higher risk of


depression in collcyberbullying.Cyberbullying knows no bounds in terms of age or
gender. Anxiety,sadness, stressed and even suicide have all been linked to
cyberbullying. Cyberbullying has resulted as a result of it. Simply described,
cyberbullying is the intentional misuse of information technology with the goal of
harassing others. They take place on social media, public forums, and other platforms
that provide online information. A cyberbully does not always have to be a stranger; it
could be someone you know.
Is cyberbullying linked to mental illness?
Being the target of a cyberbully can lead to anxiety, sadness, low self-esteem, and even
feelings of worthlessness in your child. If your child is being cyberbullied, they may
adjust their conduct in the following ways: Avoiding mingling or conversing to friends.
Teens may become depressed as a result of cyberbullying.!

Being bullied, verbally attacked, or harassed online can wreck a young person’s mind,
leading to a variety of problems, including despair.

Summery.
According to a review of the literatureand responses,Cyberbullying has
been identified as a concern posed by teens as a result of their use of the
internet. Bullies attack with the goal of harassinmg, humiliating, and
harming the reputation of others. On the other hand, the criminal engages
in such behaviours in order to gain attention. Publicise the incident in
order to make fun of others or to exact vengeance. The concept Being a
victim of cyberbullying can create unease, insecurity, worry, and
depression at any time.Depression among teenagers is a common
occurrence. This has major consequences for the victims, who frequently
separate themselves from society by engaging in anti-social behaviour or
engaging in harmful activities. Furthermore,if the circumstance grates on
the victim’s nerves for a long time, it may have a long-term effect on him,
leaving him vulnerable and making it difficult for him to exist in our society.
The rise in such events has been attributed to a lack of parental guidance
and aid, as well as teens’ perceptions that is bullying others is amusing.The
anonymity is maintained in the majority of cases, making the victim even
more scared. In these scenarios, despiteite their apprehensions about
being victims of cyberbullying, teens have been observed avoiding
informing their elders and parents about the occurrences.

Conclusion:
It can be seen if students have the same impression of cyberbullying on
social media based on the findings of the research conducted.More than
half of pupils believe that cyberbullying entails to sending constant
interruption messages via e-mail, short messages, or text messages on
social media. More than 40% of those polled agree that cyberbullying is
motivated by rage, hurt, retribution,or frustration,as well as a desire for
power fueled by exaggerating one’s ego at the expense of others.Their
opinions on the penalties for cyber-bullying offenders differ,with more
than 40% agreeing that offenders should be returned to their families for
guidance and severe penalties.The results of this study were also found if
more than half of the participants were female.
If more than half of the pupils agreed, A moral message should be
delivered to victims of cyberbullying so that they can forgive.
