LOVE BUGS
My youngest son loves bugs. I like to think of bugs as cute little creatures that are welcomed in my garden. Maybe these two love bugs will find a place by your garden.

Boy and Girl Love Bug Head Using dark purple yarn Chain 2 Rd 1: 6 sc in second chain from hook (6) Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (12) Rd 3: sc in next sc, inc. in next sc around (18) Rd 4: sc in next 2 sc, inc. in next sc around (24) Rd 5: sc in next 3 sc, inc. in next sc around (30) Rd 6-10: sc in each sc around (30) Rd 11: sc in next 3 sc, dec. over next 2 sc around (24) Rd 12: sc in next 2 sc, dec. over next 2 sc around (18) Rd 13: sc in next sc, dec. in next 2 sc around (12) Slip stitch to join and bind off. Leave a long tail to weave in ends. Stuff head.

Rd 8-10: Continue with light purple yarn and sc in each sc around (24) For Both: Rds 11-12 are the same for both the girl and boy. Except with the girl continue with the light purple yarn. Rd 11: sc in each 2 sc, dec. over next 2 sc around (18) Rd 12: sc in next sc, dec. over next 2 sc around (12) Slip stitch to join and bind off. Leave a long tail to weave in ends. Stuff and sew to head. Arms (Make 2) Chain 2 Rd 1: 8 sc in second chain from hook Rds 2-8: 8 sc in each sc around (8) Slip stitch to join and bind off. Leave a long tail to sew arms to body. Lightly stuff arms and sew to body. Legs (Make 2) Chain 2 Rd 1: 8 sc in second chain from hook Rds 2-7: 8 sc in each sc around (8) Slip stitch to join and bind off. Leave a long tail to sew legs to body. Lightly stuff legs and sew to body. Skirt for girl Using light purple yarn and starting in the back insert hook into one of the front loops (Rd 7 of body). Make sure the toy is upside down. Feet in the air. Rd 1: sc in each sc around (24) Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (48)

Rd 3: sc in each sc around (48) Slip stitch to join and bind off. Weave in loose ends. Assembly Sew head to body by lining up back seams. Sew on arms right below the neck. Attach legs to body. Cut 2 pieces of black pipe cleaner 3 inches long. Stick into the top of the head about inches apart. Curl ends. Sew on 4 beads for eyes or embroider eyes if toy is meant for a small child. Embroider a smile.

Using dark purple yarn Chain 2 Rd 1: 6 sc in second chain from hook (6) Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (12) Rd 3: sc in next sc, inc. in next sc around (18) Rd 4: sc in next 2 sc, inc. in next sc around (24) Rds 5-6: sc in each sc around (24) For Boy: Rds 7-8: Change to light purple and sc in each sc around (24) Rd 9-10: Change to dark purple yarn. Sc in each sc around (24) For Girl: Rd 7: Change to light purple yarn. Sc in the back loop of each sc around (24)
