Topic: Policy and Guidelines on Protecting Children in School from Abuse,
Violence, Exploitation, Discrimination, Bullying and Other Forms of Abuse
Discussant: Ms. Jenny A. Bertillo

V. OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the LAC Sessions, teachers-participants are expected to:


1. Upgrade the knowledge and understanding about the Policy and Guidelines on
Protecting Children in School from Abuse, Violence, Exploitation, Discrimination,
Bullying and Other Forms of Abuse.
2. Ensure that individuals have a clear understanding of what child protection is,
why it's important, and the potential consequences of not adhering to child
protection policies.
3. Train individuals to recognize the signs and indicators of child abuse and
neglect, including physical, emotional, sexual abuse, and neglect.

VI. PROCEEDINGS:

After teaching a child protection policy, it's crucial to follow up with specific proceedings and
actions to ensure that the policy is effectively implemented and that individuals are prepared to apply their
knowledge.
These are the typical things that should occur after teaching the child protection policy.
Assessment and Evaluation, Certification and Acknowledgment, Policy Implementation, Reporting
Mechanisms, Regular Refresher Training, Supervision and Oversight, Support for Victims and Survivors,
Documentation and Record Keeping, Communication and Awareness, Investigation and Resolution,
Review and Improvement, Accountability and Consequences, Reporting to Stakeholders, Community
Engagement, Compliance with Legal Requirements.
The proceedings following the teaching of child protection policy are critical for translating
knowledge into action and maintaining a safe and protective environment for children. Regular
monitoring, training, and evaluation are essential components of a successful child protection program.
