This game is a simulation Pump It Up Fiesta Ex’s interface. It includes Arcade mode
and Battle mode (without HyperPotion and BrainIQ). Future versions of the game will not have
Mission Zone or Skill Up Zone.
Nota: The Scoring and Timing are not equal to the real game.
Set Up Steps
1. Extract the file “Theme_FEx_1_4.rar”.
2. Add songs to the songs folder (included in the pack).
3. Execute “SM5_FEx_1_4.exe”.
To see all the credits of the game, you can check: Options -> StepMania Credits.

3_ How do I add more NoteSkins?
When a noteskin is added, it is necessary to add a .PNG file to /NoteSkins/Labels with the
same name of the new noteskin.

HomeMode: This shows the Main Menu (including the Editor, Options, etc).
FreePlay: Hides the Main Menu.
Event: Timer disabled. You can only play endlessly.
Just like the arcade game, basic mode doesn’t have all the game commands and only
shows a handful of songs and steps. While full mode allows the access to the Command Window,
Channel selections, etc.

7_ How do I change from Basic Mode to Full Mode?
BattleMode can be accessed when a new player joins the game (in FullMode).
It is necessary to add songs to the groups assigned for each battle mode (at least in one
group).

Questions and answers
Single Performance: Steps must be “Single“ type. Write on the steps description “SP”. For
example: “hard steps SP”.
Double Performance: Steps must be “Double” type. Write on the steps description “DP”.
For example: “double per. DP”.
Creating Double type steps. Selecting the “TapNote: Tap”, and using the “H” and “J” keys,
you can change the player noteskins.
Note: There are only 3 DP noteskins available, plus the Default noteskins.

4_ How do I set a step as “New” or “Another”?
Adding to the description of the steps the words “newstep” or “another” respectively.
Note: A whole group can be set as “new” for all the songs in the group (read the next
question).
Image: must be an image file with the name “banner” and must be in the group folder.
Sound: must be a sound file with name “sound” and must be inside the “info” folder.
Description: must be in the “Description” parameter and ends with a “;” in the “data.txt”
file.
Note: On the “data.txt” file you can also write “UseNew=true;” to set all the song steps in
that song cannel as “NEW”.

6_ How do I set the type of a song?
The song type defines how many hearts the games takes (depending of the grade that the
player got). Also it helps to sort the song in the different channels.
Shortcut = 1 heart.
Arcade = 2 hearts if B or less; 1 heart if A or better.
Full Song = 4 hearts if B or less; 2 hearts if A or better.
Remix = 3 hearts if B or less; 2 hearts if A or better.
Music Train = All the hearts.
Note: Only the song with ShortCut, FullSong, or Remix type will appear in their channels.
AllTunes channel only shows Arcade songs type.

Song’s categories are:
New Tunes.
K-pop.
Original.
World Music.
Use genre = Uses the text in “Genre” parameter.

Command Window Color: choose the color of the command window.
Demonstration Group: choose the demonstration group.
SSM Timer: sets the timer.
BM for Local Profile: Shows BasicMode or not.
Shows the background video full fit to screen, or fit to screen keeping the aspect ratio
Off On
Note: This option only has effect when the background video uses a different aspect
relation of the game.

12_ Automatic Channels
The game includes 5 automatic channels (so it’s not necessary to create them):
The game includes 9 channels with graphics and sound. Its necessary to use these names
as group folder name.

Also, the game includes battle modes. These modes appear only when a song is installed in
one of these folders.

14_ BasicMode and FullMode groups
The game includes one single group folder for BasicMode which name is
“BasicModeGroup”.
When the game enters FullMode, it starts in AllTunes cannel, which only includes Arcade
type songs. So it’s necessary to have at least one arcade song type (out of the basic mode folder).
III Observations
Timer in the song selection adds extra time when it’s over. It also blocks the access to a
previous state selection.
