ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

PURPOSE
The purpose of this assignment is to enhance learners’ understanding of the solid waste
issues in Malaysia and the solutions to overcome the problems.

TASK 1: VIDEO PRESENTATION


Solid waste management is the biggest environmental issue in Malaysia, that highly
dependent on landfilling as the main disposal method in managing this continuous increase
of solid waste generation annually. The build-up of solid waste is resulting in tremendous
land and air pollution for the environment, health problems for communities and economic
growth.

Based on the information above, you are required to produce a Video presentation to
promote public awareness, attitudes and practices towards solid waste in Malaysia. The
video should cover the following elements:

a) Provide an introduction on the solid waste scenario and challenges in Malaysia


b) Create ONE solid waste awareness and promotion poster.
c) Describe in detail on how to promote public solid waste awareness, attitudes and
practices by using the poster you have created.
d) Propose planning or actions that could be done to improve solid waste management
awareness and promotion.

Video Presentation Format


 Submit the video presentation format mp4, MPEG-4, avi, MOV, Mkv, or flv into the OUM
assignment submission system.
 You as the presenter MUST be visible in the video presentation.
 The video presentation duration must be WITHIN 5 MINUTES.

TASK 2: REFLECTIVE ESSAY


You need to watch the following YouTube video to understand one of the waste issues
related to microplastics:

the effective strategies for overcoming the improper management."

 You may select any group to work with.

TUJUAN
Tujuan tugasan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman pelajar tentang isu sisa pepejal
di Malaysia dan penyelesaian untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut.

TUGASAN 1: PERSEMBAHAN VIDEO


Pengurusan sisa pepejal adalah isu alam sekitar yang terbesar di Malaysia, yang sangat
bergantung kepada tapak pelupusan sebagai kaedah pelupusan utama dalam menguruskan
peningkatan berterusan penjanaan sisa pepejal ini setiap tahun. Pengumpulan sisa pepejal
mengakibatkan pencemaran tanah dan udara yang luar biasa untuk alam sekitar, masalah
kesihatan untuk masyarakat dan pertumbuhan ekonomi.

Berdasarkan maklumat di atas, anda dikehendaki menghasilkan persembahan Video untuk


menggalakkan kesedaran, sikap dan amalan awam terhadap sisa pepejal di Malaysia. Video
hendaklah merangkumi elemen berikut:

a) Berikan pengenalan tentang senario dan cabaran sisa pepejal di Malaysia


b) Ciptakan SATU poster kesedaran dan promosi sisa pepejal.
c) Terangkan secara terperinci tentang bagaimana mempromosikan kesedaran, sikap dan
amalan sisa pepejal awam dengan menggunakan poster yang telah anda cipta.
d) Cadangkan perancangan atau tindakan yang boleh dilakukan untuk meningkatkan
kesedaran dan promosi pengurusan sisa pepejal.
