I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, student must be able to
1. Identify 5-digit number from 10000 up to 99999
2. Represent 5-digit number from 10000 up to 99999
3. Solve problem involving 5-digit number

II. MATERIAL
 Suggested Activities of EPS Lamban
 Other IMs

III. ACTIVITIES
Activity 1: Review/ Drill (10 minutes)
1.1 The teacher will present or write on the board the activity below and let the
student answer in a ¼ sheet of paper.
A. The teacher will call volunteers to reveal their answer on the board .
Write the following numbers in word.
1. 3 - Three
2. 85 – Eighty-five
3. 726 – Seven hundred twenty-six
4. 1247- One thousand two hundred forty-seven
5. 8234 – Eight thousand two hundred thirty-four
B. Write the following words in figures.
1. Seventy-one - 71
2. Two hundred thirty-nine - 239
3. Eight hundred fifteen -815
4. Seven thousand two hundred nine - 7209
5. Twelve thousand one hundred one - 12101
(Discuss if necessary)

Activity 2: Discussion on Skill #1 Writing and Reading aloud.(10 minutes)


2.1 The Teacher will give example of 4 digit numbers, let the student write and read
aloud.
Ex. 1. 11004 Eleven Thousand Four
2. 23140 Twenty Three Thousand One Hundred Forty

2.2 The teacher will call volunteers to write numbers in the board and call another
students to write in words.
1. 76213 2. 32348 3. 90988
( Examples may vary depending on the needs of the students)

Activity 3: Discussion on Skill #2 Spelling Bee(5 minutes)

3.1 The teacher will give 1- words for spelling.


Ex. 1. Hundred 2. Thousand 3. Sixteen 4. Forty

3.2 Teacher will call volunteers to write the words in the board.
Activity 4: Discussion on Skill #3 Problem Solving(15 minutes)

4.1 The Teacher will give simple problem of addition.


Ex. 1. There are 6,281 Nara trees and 5,405 Gemelina trees in Damulog. What is
the total number of trees in Damulog in two types?

4.2 The Teacher ask student to read the problem 3 times and Identify the given and
what is ask in the problem.

4.3 The Teacher will call volunteers to answer the problem in the board.

IV. ASSESSMENT (10 minutes)

Identify the following given number by the teacher and represent it in words.

1. 22340
2. 54360
3. 93491
4. 83248
5. 59236
