Hay dos tiempos verbales en Inglés: pasado y presente

Hay 4 variaciones del tiempo presente:

Present simple I work


Present continuous I am working
Present perfect I have worked
Present perfect continuous I have been working

Podemos usar estas formas:

Para hablar del presente


London is the capital of Britain.
He works at McDonald’s.
He is working at McDonald's.
He has worked there for three months now.
He has been working there for three months now.

Para hablar del futuro


The next train leaves this evening at 17.00.
I'll phone you when I get home.
He is meeting Peter in town this afternoon.
I'll come home as soon as I have finished work.
You will be tired out after you have been working all night.

PRESENT SIMPLE
- El tiempo presente es la forma base del verbo

I work in London.

- Pero con la tercera persona del singular (she/he/it), agregamos una —s

She work​s​ in London.

Utilizamos present simple para hablar de:

- Algo que es verdad en el presente


I'm nineteen years old.
I'm a student.
He lives in London.
- Algo que sucede regularmente en el presente
I play football every weekend.

Tambien utilizamos present simple para hablar de:

- algo que tiene lugar en el futuro

(después), before (antes), if (si), unless (si no)

PAST SIMPLE

With most verbs, the past tense is formed by adding –ed:
