Audiority EpicPigGuiro Manual
Audiority EpicPigGuiro Manual
This little smiley wooden pig is an hybrid between a temple block and a guiro, a Latin-
American percussion instrument. It could be hit on its body or rubbed on top notches to
produce a ratchet sound. This is a very common instrument with a real hidden power.
We had fun trying to make this tiny pig being a hero: using different mallets, unusual
objects and twisted sound design, we produced 25 cinematic instruments between
organic sounds, rhythmic loops, pads and SFX. This piggy will be a great companion for
your next epic trailer scoring.
Please, read carefully both product specifications and system requirements before
purchasing any Audiority products.

Note: Full version of Native Instruments Kontakt 3.5+ is required.
Installation
Uncompress the downloaded .rar file in your favourite Sample Libraries folder. Kontakt patches are stored in
Instruments folder. Please, remember to keep both files and folder structures or Kontakt will pop-up an error
message asking for missing files. In that case, all samples are store into Samples folder.
If you don't have any program to handle .rar archives, here's a couple of links:
WinRAR for Microsoft Windows
UnRarX for Mac OSX
Bear in mind that you need FULL version of Kontakt 3.5 or upper in order to load this library properly.
Kontakt Player is not supported.
You can use the Files or Database tabs to load our .nki files. Since this is a standard open-format library, you
cannot load it under Library tab of Kontakt browser. This section will only load locked “Powered by Kontakt”
libraries and the “Add Library” command will not work with this product.
System Requirements
Even if this is a small package, we recommend that you have at least 4GB of RAM, a dual-core CPU and a fast
hard drive (7200rpm SATA II or higher) before purchasing this or any sampled Audiority product. We also
suggest an audio driver latency of 512 or more for best performance.

About the Guiro
The idea behind this library is the challenge to get
cinematic sounds out of a tiny and very limited musical
instrument.
The Guiro, a Latin-American percussion instrument, is
perfect for that: a small wooden block with notches
that can only be hit or rubbed.
This particular Guiro is even thougher, since it's small
and round, so there aren't many options for different
hits or other crazy stuff that you could try on an
instrument. So we took various mallets – for bass
drums, taiko, timpani, even piano hammers – and
recorded several hits with an average of three dynamic
levels.
Moreover, we also tried with unusual objects such as
rubber blocks, finger nails and so on, hitting and
rubbing the poor pig to get more sounds out of it. The
result is a small yet useful library where you will find
both organic (hits & rubs) and designed sounds.
We also tailored some loops out of live playing: thanks
to Kontakt Beat Machine mode, you'll be able to play
them in any tempo and tune.
It's very cool how this wooden block will sound like a
drum tom, a dark pad, an organ (!) or even a powerful
sub bass percussion.
We hope you will enjoy Epic Pig Guiro as much as we
enjoyed making it.
Happy playing!

Performance Controls
We added some useful controls to let you futher shape the sound of this library. There are three main
sections: one for processing effects, a couple of resonant filters and ambience effects.
FX Section
Skreamer
A good sounding overdrive useful to add character to
the sound. The Drive knob controls the distortion
amount; Tone knob will enhance some frequencies;
Clean knob adds unprocessed signal to the distorted
sound.
Lo-Fi
Sample and bit reducer, very useful for harsh digital
distortions. The S.Rate knob sets the sample rate
reduction, while Bits knob sets the bit reduction. A
good combination of those gives you a digital hell.
The Noise knob injects a background noise to your
instrument.
Stereo Modeller
This effect will spread the signal frequencies through
the stereo panorama. Spread knob controls the
spread amount. Negative values will spread an
inverted copy of the sound. The Pan knob is used to
balance the signal between stereo channels.
4
Filters Section
Ambience Section
Delay
This section provides a tempo-synced delay with Time
control, Feedback and Return gain control. Time knob
is a divider of a 1/16 note, so a value of 2.0 means an
1/8 note, a value of 4.0 means a 1/4 note and so on.
Reverb
The old good metallic Kontakt reverb. You can control
the Pre Delay signal, room Size and Return gain.
