COURSE SYLLABUS

MPA 614
(RURAL AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT)
First Semester A.Y. 2015 - 2016
The center of excellence and development in research, instruction, production, and extension services for
progressive leadership transcending global technological, business and industry driven education.
Provides advanced professional and technical instruction for special purposes, industrial trade, teacher
education, agriculture, fishery, forestry, engineering, aeronautics and land-based programs, arts and sciences,
health sciences, information technology and other relevant fields of study. It shall undertake research, production
and extension services and provide progressive leadership across the areas of specialization for global
empowerment.
Produce knowledge-based and globally competent human resource who are reasonably flexible and
attuned to the latest technology needs; strengthen academe and industry partnership; and spur effective and
efficient technology management.
The Graduate School develops technology and values oriented executive leaders in education, agri-
industrial and related sectors through research and community services towards shared productivity in their chosen
fields.
Aim of MPA:
Provide managerial skills for executive leaders and non-teaching personnel in various offices towards
effective and efficient public services.
Description of the Course:
The course deals with the study on the development of both rural and urban areas of the
Philippines and neighboring countries. It includes development of proposals for community development
based on the available resources of that particular community or society.
DESIRED OUTCOME:
General Objectives:
Develop our economy in terms of increase in national productivity and improve the quality of life
of our people.
