Crude palm oil (CPO) is a mixed triglyceride vegetable oil with a reddish-yellow color and raw palm odor. It has a melting point between 33-39°C, density of 0.88-0.94, and is insoluble in water but soluble in hydrocarbons. CPO is not flammable and has a flash point above 250°F. It is biodegradable and exposure does not present known acute or chronic health hazards. Spills should be soaked up with sand or other absorbent and washed with soap and water, observing all waste disposal regulations.
