A. How to offer something to someone


Offering adalah sebuah ekspresi yang digunakan untuk menawarkan sesuatu.
Would you like…?
Kata would you like diiikuti oleh kata benda ( yang ditawarkan) atau kata To ditambah infinitive
Contoh :
Would you like something to eat ?
Would you like to have a juice?
Would you like to read magazine?
Do you want…?
Sama dengan would you like... do you want ....juga diikuti oleh to + Verb1
Contoh :
Do you want some juice ?
Do you want something to drink?
Do you want to get a newspaper?
Do you want some food?
Would you care for…?
Setelah for biasanya diikuti oleh kata benda yang ditawarkan
Contoh :
‘Would you care for newspaper , Mr.John ?’
“Would you care for a cup of coffee , sir?”
(Do you) fancy…? (British English)
How about…?
Expressi how about setelah kata about diikuti oleh gerund (V-ing) atau kata benda.
Contoh.
How about going to the beach?
How about drinking a coofee ?
Can I get you…?

Can i get you a cake as the dessert?
Accepting an Offer:

Guest : I don’t understand what the taxi driver is trying to say. Could you translate for me?
Staff : Of course sir, I’d be delighted to help.
