Practical 1: Implement the Security in web browsers (Mozilla Firefox/Google Chrome/IE).

Steps to secure web browsers:

i. Mozilla Firefox
a. Open the browser and go to settings.
b. Find General settings and go to Firefox update
c. Select check for updates, if there are any updates pending it will show in the update section.
Grant permission for updating Firefox.
d. Now select privacy and security in Firefox settings and change the browser privacy to strict.

ii. Google Chrome
a. Open google chrome and go to help and select about google chrome.
b. The application will automatically check for updates.
c. Now go to safety check under privacy and security and click on check now.
d. The application will get up to date.
e. Now go to security and select safe browsing to enhanced protection.

iii. Microsoft Edge
a. Open Microsoft edge and go to help and feedback and select about Microsoft Edge.
b. The application will automatically get updated.
c. Now go to privacy and change tracking prevention to strict.

Practical 2: Analysis of the security and privacy features and issues in Ecommerce &
social media websites i.e., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google+.

A. Steps to secure Ecommerce websites:


i. Amazon
a. Open a web application and go to amazon.in
b. Log into the account.
c. Go to your account and select login and security.
d. Scroll down and turn on 2 factor authentication.
e. We can also turn on the passkey so that whenever we login a PIN is required.

B. Steps to make social media secure.
a. Facebook and Instagram
i. Open a web application and go to facebook.com
ii. Log into the account and the go-to privacy center
iii. Now select two-factor authentication and both the accounts Facebook as well as
Instagram. Turn the 2-factor authentication on.

b. Twitter
i. Open web application and go to twitter.com
ii. Click on more, settings and support and then click on settings and privacy. iii. Go
to security and account access and then on security.
iv. Select two-factor authentication and choose your preferred mode.
