withhold a portion of their capacity as
spinning reserves, lowering the total
energy output of the system, which
lowered plant revenue.
IMPACT
The speed, efficiency, and reliability of 20
MW/5 MWh battery enabled it to provide
the spinning reserves for the power plant.
This released the plant’s withheld capacity
to grow its revenues by increasing output
by 4% (~130 GWh per year).
