Install GestioIP v3.0

Customize GestioIP
------------------

* Customize columns for network and host list views

Click "manage" -> "columns" and add predefined columns or define own columns

NOTE
Predefined host columns will be updated by "discovery" and "update via SNMP"
Tryout columns "vendor" and "OS". GestioIP recognizes more than 140 different
manufactures.

Initialize GestioIP's database

* If you migrate from spreadsheet based IP address management import spreadsheets


first:

- Click "import/export" -> mark radio button "networks" upload


spreadsheet with networks and import the networks by clicking "import"
(see documentation for details)

* Start discovery

Discovery executes the following processes:

1 VLAN discovery via SNMP using Perl Modul SNMP::Info


2 Network discovery via SNMP querying routing tables from network devices
3 Host discovery of new found networks via SNMP using SNMP::Info and own
discovery mechanisms
4 Host discovery of new found networks via DNS and ping

Click "import/export" -> "discovery"

Introduce one or a coma separated list of IP addresses of devices holding


routing tables (e.g.
routers or multilayer switches), introduce SNMP community string and click
"discover".

NOTE
Networks which where imported by last run of "import networks from spreadsheet"
can
be processed within host discovery, too.
