Fdar Gastroentiritis

The patient, a 24-year-old female, was admitted to the hospital with gastroenteritis characterized by a 2-day history of watery diarrhea and fever. Her rehydration and electrolyte balance were restored with IV fluids and oral rehydration solution. Despite 4 days of treatment including a probiotic, her diarrhea did not improve. She was given medications to treat diarrhea, increased fluid intake, and rest. Her condition improved after being treated with gelatin tannate, as her diarrhea frequency decreased and her temperature became normal. She was discharged after her symptoms completely resolved within 3 days.
