Welcome back.
I hope you're enjoying working with digital media in power
.365. So far. You've prepared your presentation created digital images, applied animations and use transitions in the program. Now the final task will cover how to export and share your digital media. Since we've talked about a few different types of digital media so far, just know that there are different ways to export and share each type. Before we start exporting. I want to show you one more trick. We've been doing the slideshow to preview the video from the beginning or from the current slide. But up here on the top right, you will notice present, clicking the present button will open it and play your complete presentation from beginning to end without having to open the new tab slide show. And then when you're ready to go back to editing, you just hit escape and when you go back right back to the editing screen. So at this point you may want to pause the video to make sure your digital media is finalized and rejoin when you are ready to continue exporting and sharing your files. Now, let's go through the different ways that are available to you for saving and exporting a power .365 presentation. Let's click file up here on the top left and then select, save as you'll see this screen. There are several options that appear on the menu. The first three are saved as rename and download a copy. These are pretty basic options that refer to the presentation and a power point format in general. The next option is to download as pdf. A pdf format basically takes a still picture of each slide and makes it all into one file. This would be useful if you want a static view of each slide, safer. An e book or digital brochure. PDFs are reviewable with adobe acrobat and others typically cannot make changes to the digital document produced on the downside. The pdf would not include any of the animations, transitions or videos created within the project. Next on the list, you'll see download as ODP. The ODP file extension is known as open document presentation. To open an ODP file, the computer has to install Open Office Suite program which can be downloaded freely from its website. Typically saving as an ODP file wouldn't be very useful unless this is the type of program you know, your audience is using. Moving on to the next option, download as images selecting. This option will save each individual slide as a jpeg file. A Jpeg file is an image saved as a compressed image. Jpeg is one of the most commonly used file types for saving images. So this would be a great option for you if you want to create a single digital image such as a photo or a logo From this program, you can see here that power .365 will create individual Jpeg files for each slide that you have created. These are static images so it would not work for digital video animations or transitions. These are the saving or exporting options available in Microsoft 365 power points. Additionally, you can share your digital media. This makes sense for digital files like this because we won't need to physically print anything. So again from the file menu, select share. You can click share with people and you will see this pop up appear. It allows you to share with others and clicking here, you can decide if you want to allow editing or not by clicking this box. You can set an expiration date for as long as you want it to be available and you can make a password if you want to password, protect it for your audience, then select, cancel to go back a screen. You'll see here where you can type in names or groups from your contact list or type in or paste the emails of the specific people you want to send it out to. Then on the right, you can select here to allow these people to edit it or view it and link settings. Takes you back to the screen that we were just on below this. You can type in a message. So if you type in a bunch of emails, you can write a little message before they get your presentation. If you want to explain it to them, then you click sent then at the bottom of this box, you'll notice copy link. This allows you to copy the link and use it elsewhere. This can be useful if you want to include a link somewhere else digitally, maybe in an email or a text selecting this option, you'll see this screen pop up and here you can copy the link and then down here again, it takes you back to allowing viewers to edit or view what you have created. Going back again to the file share menu. The final option you'll see is in bed. So I think in bed creates an html code that will allow you to embed the presentation into a website seamlessly. I hope you've learned a lot from this project about creating digital media and power point. You've prepared a project, created digital images, applied animations, made digital videos and learned the exporting options for your digital media using the free power .365 program. Thanks for joining today and enjoy building your digital media objects on your own.
