This document proposes a system for remotely controlling the speed of an induction motor using an IoT-based mobile application. An Android mobile app would act as a transmitter, sending speed control signals via WiFi to a NodeMCU module. The NodeMCU is an advanced version of Arduino that receives the signals and delivers power signals to a triac through optical isolation. This controls the power to the load and induction motor, achieving remote speed control. Hardware components include a NodeMCU, digital dimmer module, and optical isolated relay module. The system aims to provide a low-cost solution for remotely regulating motor speed via a wireless mobile interface.

ABSTRACT

“IOT” the world’s most popular platform which is tool for creating application that look great
and take advantage of hardware capabilities. The advantage of IOT is that it is an open source
operating system is used in terms of mobile application that is smart phone which will act as
a remote controller. Here the proposed system is designed to controlling the speed of
induction motor using IOT based application where the remotely controlling speed of
induction motor is achieved.
Android mobile act as a transmitter and the received by Wifi receiver interfaced to
Node MCU of Aurdino family. Node MCU is an advanced version of Aurdino. Each time
data is sent by android application as per code written is executed by Node MCU to deliver
supply signal to triac through optical isolation. Hence the power to load connected in series
with triac is controlled based on received signal and speed control of induction motor is
achieved.

Keywords- Triac, Node MCU, Optoisolator, Relay, AC Load
