CHAPTER I

1.1 INTRODUCTION

India is the world 12th largest consumer market it is projected that by 2025 , it will be
ahead of and will become the fifth largest economy of the world. There is an explosive
growth in almost all the areas of consumer goods and services. Communication that
accounts for 2 percent of consumers spending today will be one of the fastest expanding
categories with growth of about 13 percent. Mobile telecommunication industry has
shown a tremendous growth over the last few years and at present there are about twenty
crore subscribers of the mobile phone usage in the country of the market of mobile is also
growing with the growing demand for mobile services . This demand will continues to
grow in future also. India at present is the second largest market for mobile handsets. The
growth in this sector has been improved due to liberalization of telecommunication laws
and policies.
The consumers of both rural and urban areas from college going students to mature elders
of most all income groups have started using mobile telecom service The growth is
fastest in mobile services as compared to fixed lines where it is modest. Some of the
consumers particularly college going students have to rely on their parents for the buying
of products like mobile handset and automobile.
This is so because large majority of such people are not economically independent till the
age of 22-24 years. Therefore, they have to satisfy themselves with what their parents
buying for them. But now a days these people have become more able to influence their
parents in buying the products of their choice. This is probably due too small family size
of one or two children these days. Where parents completely more with the requests of
their children as compared to the past.

1.2 Objective of the study
 To study the usage of mobile for various age group
 To study what type of mobile applications used by various age group
 To study what type of mental and physical problem face by various age group

1.3 Scope of the study


 The study is conducted to know the customer preferences about using mobile usage
 It present wide opportunity for mobile company for their customer base
 To know the awareness level of various problems occur during mobile use
 By this study we can predict what kind of age group people use mobile phones and for
what purpose.

1.4 Limitations of the study


 The behaviour of the customer in unpredictable which may resulting the lack accuracy in
data
 The sample size of survey was small and comprise of only 200 the result may prove to
error
 Stipulated short span of time for survey of time for survey
 The no of respondance are small there for study is not universally applicable.

2.1 LITRATURE REVIEV

Definition.- A literature review is a comprehensive summary of previous research on a topic.


The literature review surveys scholarly articles, books, and other sources relevant to a particular
area of research. The review should enumerate, describe, summarize, objectively evaluate and
clarify this previous research.

2.1 The smart phone


A smart phone also known as a cellular phone, cell phone or hand phone is a device that can
make and receive telephone calls over a radio link whilst moving around a wide geographic area.
It does so by connecting to a cellular network provided by a smart phone operator , allowing to
the public telephone network.

2.2 Various Application’s used in smart phone

Banking Applications : Today smart phone are used for various purpose. For banking purposes
or we can say for sending or receiving money. Phone pay, Google pay, paytm, thare are many
apps used for Banking purposes.

3.1 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Methodology is vital aspect of any research or investigation. It enables the investigators too look
problems in systematic , meaningful and manner.

The details methodology adopted in the present note below.

Research Design

The research is descriptive in nature which aims at portraying the characteristics of phenomena
under study. Was carried out with both primary and secondary data. The primary data was
collected through structured questionnaire from sample 200 respondents from the Age group
mobile usage of society. Secondary data is also being collected from journals, books , search
engines etc.

Primary Data-

In primary data collection, the data is collected using preformatted questionnaires.

Secondary Data-Data from the other sources that has been already collected and is readily
available this data is less expensive and more quickly attainable from various public sources.
Secondary data is extremely useful when primary data collection. It is here that the information
is called through the way of using source that already present. These sources are represented by
internet and various Branches.

Sampling Method

Nonprobability sampling i.e. Convenience sampling was used to collected from population. The
research design clearly examines the A study on smartphone usage in different age group in our
society.The study mainly focus to examine that how much aware about the Mobile usage and
analysis that what the behavior of different age group of people mobile phone usage.

SAMPLE SIZE : 200

Sample Unit- Aurangabad

Data Analysis:

Data collected through is classified at tabulated and then analysis is done percentage method and
pie chart and bar diagram were used to present the analyzed data and interpretation were drawn.

FINDINGS

• Whats app and youtube is the most used applications.

• Most of people uses Real me and Apple companies smartphones

• Smart phone has made the life of people easier, as everything available or can be done
virtually

• Most of the respondent are Neutral with smart phone is necessary

COCLUSION

Smart phone has now become the important thing for all, as it has eased our life in terms of
communication, entertainment, connectivity and what not, but it has also been observed that
excess use of and dependency on smart phone has also negatively affected people. People are
experiencing issues like depression, anxiety, and other health issues which is an alarming sigh
of all. Skillful use of smartphone is recommended for prevention from its adverse effects.
