In 2015, Akram’s dream came true. Out of 600 competitors, Akram
was among 8 winners of NASA Program. It trains researchers to do
research work in the field of Earth Space Science and Technology. Akram
had to go into space in 2017, after he spent his preparation in the state of
Florida, USA. He was steps away from becoming Egypt’s first astronaut.
Akram Amin Abdel Latif, who was born on 8th of March,1988 in
Cairo, joined the German University in Cairo’s Faculty of Engineering in
September 2005. On his fourth year (2009), Akram managed to take a
chance to travel to Germany for 6 months to complete his study. In
September 2010, Akram flew to Stuttgart to complete his study. After that
he joined the University of Munich and he earned his degree for the
second time in 2014. Akram joined the ‘Astronauts to Hire’ association,
an organization that gives persons a chance to join space programs. In
2014, Akram took his first steps towards space together with Hanaa
Gaber.
