that operates on a farm-to-fork model. It was
founded in December 2015 and is based out
of Bengaluru. It supplies high quality fresh
seafood and meat, apart ready-to-cook and
ready-to-eat products. Licious is India’s first
direct-to-customer unicorn.

Mission: Licious will build the most loved
meat brand by delighting the world with the
unmatched range of meat and meat product.

Aligning Business Strategies with HR

In Licious, they believe that the overall goal of
the company can only be achieved if the
employees have a sense of belonging and are
motivated enough to genuinely put in efforts
and build the brand like their own. For this,
they have put together certain objectives
which they implement using various HR
initiatives. These objectives are as follows:
 Togetherness
 Humility
 Excellence
 Laugh
 Integrity
 Innovate
These objectives are kept in mind when the
various HR initiatives are implemented. A few
of such initiative are explained below.
Recruitment
Licious has majorly focused on recruiting
experienced employees with the relevant
experience. This is because the company has
been in the initial stages and growing rapidly,
there has not been enough time to train
employees and get them up to speed. Post
COVID-19 crisis the company had started
recruiting interns from campuses.

Compensation
Licious follows elaborate process when it
comes to the compensation of the
employees. For the front-end employees,
there are monthly incentives given to them
with respect to their performance of that
month. Performance tracking is done by
taking into account certain parameters like
efficiency, productivity etc.
Employee engagement
Licious has always been in the forefront when
it comes to engaging employees to install a
sense of belonging in them. Keeping in mind
the two objectives- Togetherness and Laugh,
at Licious they make sure that LICIANS (as
they called themselves) enjoy their work or
sometimes, maybe just not work. They claim
to work, play and celebrate together, be it
any special occasion and that’s how they
become the Licious family.
Some of the prominent activities in the
employee’s engagement are:
- Monthly Townhalls for the entire org.
- Virtual introduction (both formal and
informal)
- Unofficial activities conducted by different
teams (Eg: A PUBG game tournament
conducted by Technical Team)
These are some HR practice which is done
by Licious in their organisation.
