NOTES
1. Cardigan is worked sideways in one piece, beg at one sleeve edge. The sleeve is worked, then sts are
cast on for the back and the left front. Work continues in one piece until the left front and back are
divided to shape the neck.
2. Sts are cast on for the right front and this piece is worked separately, then joined to the back. The
joined is made by simply working across the sts of the right front, then continuing across the sts of
the back (no sewing is involved in this join!). Work then continues in one piece across the back/right
front and the second sleeve.
3. A circular needle is used to accommodate the width of the fabric. Work back and forth in rows on
circular needle as if working with straight needles.
4. Cardigan is worked in Garter st (k every row) and St st (k on RS, p on WS).
5. The gauge difference between St st and Garter st gives a slight A-line shape to the Cardigan.
