AE06 Sol SlabBolt

This document provides information about the loads, dimensions, and material properties for a proposed five story concrete building. It gives the dead load, live load, and ultimate load values for a 1m strip of slab. It then calculates the positive moment at a span and the negative moment at an interior support. It provides the maximum spacing allowed for 10mm diameter reinforcement bars according to design codes. Additional questions calculate the shear stress in a bolt, reaction force on a specific bolt, and diameter of a bolt required to withstand a given maximum reaction force.

Beam dimensions b x h, 300 by 400 mm
Clear concrete cover to slab reinforcement = 20 mm
Slab reinforcement = 10 mm
Slab thickness= 100 mm
Concrete, fc’ = 20.7 MPa
Steel, fy = 275 MPa

𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 1𝑚 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑝 𝑜𝑓 𝑠𝑙𝑎𝑏:

𝑈𝑙𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑙𝑜𝑎𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑘𝑁 𝑚 , 𝑤𝑢𝑑𝑙 = 1.2 4.8𝑘𝑃𝑎 1𝑚 = 5.76 kN/m
𝑈𝑙𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑙𝑜𝑎𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑘𝑁 𝑚 , 𝑤𝑢𝑙𝑙 = 1.6 2.9𝑘𝑃𝑎 1𝑚 = 4.64 kN/m

𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑙𝑜𝑎𝑑, 𝑤𝑢 = 𝑤𝑢𝑑𝑙 + 𝑤𝑢𝑙𝑙
