AgroMart - Abstract 1
Problem:
Digital marketing has touched almost every market sector. Still, an important sector, Agriculture,
remains deprived of this evolution. Unaware of market trends, farmers have to settle for a very
low-profit margin, even when the market price of the commodities is relatively high. The
middlemen are the real benefactors who take advantage of the small farmers. Farmers should
reach the nearest mandis, at least 50 km away, to sell their produce. Small farmers can’t afford
transportation costs and proper storage facilities too. In India, 80% of the farmers are small
farmers, which significantly impacts the total productivity of our country’s agriculture sector.
Also, the distribution market of the farm products at the customer’s end is very mismanaged. We
observe many vegetable vendors roaming around the city streets, searching for customers
cluelessly.
Vision:
Our vision is to create a sustainable supply chain ecosystem in the agricultural produce market while
increasing farmers' profit margins and boosting the farm sector's overall productivity. We also aim to
help the local vendors by incorporating them into our ecosystem.
Solution:
We have come up with an idea to solve these problems. By incorporating local vendors, we would
establish a supply chain and online market for farm products. The supply chain will start from the
farmer’s end and terminate at the final customer’s end. Required logistics will be included in
between, and the local vendors will be the last delivery agents.
All this will be backed by our AI-powered app, which will connect the local vendors with the
customers. Our multifunctional will also render transparency to the farmers and the customers about
the crop’s whole cost addition and journey.
Business Model:
1. Buying agricultural produce from farmers at a reasonable and better price than middlemen
through our centres which has a permissible reach to all the farmers.
2. Each centre located at the farmer’s end will have a coordinator team that will guide the
farmers to use our app and the current market price of the commodities. It will also ensure
the proper cash flow to the farmers and steer them in bringing out the best products based
on the farm’s soil quality.
3. Establishing required logistics for the purchased commodities to deliver them to our local
centralised hubs with a perfect storage facility for the crops.
4. The vendors will collect the supplies from these hubs and reach the customer through the
navigation system in-built into our app.
5. We will also supply the commodities to other businesses like restaurants on a B2B model.
Future Projections:
We aim to reach every country farmer in the upcoming years while revolutionising the agriculture
sector. We aim to introduce new-age farming, a blend of technology, into thepresent Indian
agriculture system. This will boost productivity and be directly beneficial to the farmers and
indirectly to us.
We will also be incorporating battery vehicles in place of carts for the vendors to reduce manual
labour and increase efficiency in delivering our products.
Revenue Model:
Our revenue flow will be based on the following:
1. First, we will generate revenue from the B2B model.
2. Second, selling the commodities to the consumers and charging a commission from the
vendors.
