1. What are the main differences between public health and community
health nursing?
- Public health nursing is concerned with the health of entire populations, communities, or
groups. It involves programs and interventions that attempt to prevent illness, promote health,
and shield communities from health threats. In terms of the settings, public health nurses
frequently work in a variety of settings, including government health departments, non-profit
organizations, research institutions, and international health organizations. It operates at a
systemic level, emphasizing interventions that influence policies, systems, and environments
to create healthier communities.
Community health nursing, on the other hand, is more concentrated on offering direct care
and services to people as individuals, families, and groups within a particular community.
They are more individualized, offering direct care and support to individuals and families, and
they strive to improve the health outcomes of individuals by offering education, health
promotion, and preventative treatment. Additionally, community health nurses are frequently
found in places like public health facilities, schools, home health agencies, and community
clinics. They establish relationships with the communities they serve, work closely with them,
and address local health disparities.

- Global and national health situations have a significant impact on public health priorities,
which also determine the direction of public health initiatives and strategies.Disease
outbreaks, natural disasters, socioeconomic transformations, technology developments, and
changes in healthcare systems are a few instances of these circumstances.
- Nursing care relies heavily on the idea of "community" for a variety of reasons, including
the fact that it serves as the basis for comprehending and meeting the requirements of both
people and populations in terms of health.
- The public health nursing standards offer a thorough framework that directs public health
nurses in providing successful community-based care. Nurses who stick to these principles
make sure that their interventions are evidence-based, culturally competent, and focused

the Philippines has developed from its earliest days to the present. Public health nurses have
continuously adjusted to the shifting healthcare environment, playing a crucial role in
fostering health, avoiding disease, and guaranteeing all Filipinos have access to care.
6. How do the roles and responsibilities of a community health nurse align with the principles
of holistic care?
- The roles and responsibilities of a community health nurse are aligned with the principles of
holistic care by considering the multidimensional aspects of health and well-being.
Community health nurses work to improve people's entire quality of life and advocate a
multifaceted approach to health by addressing physical, psychological, social, and cultural
elements.
