Message Mapping in CPI I-Flow

1) Message mapping is required when data needs to be transformed between systems that use different data formats. 2) CPI provides a graphical editor to map fields between a source and target to transform the data between the different formats. 3) The document demonstrates how to create a message mapping in CPI by adding a WSDL file, selecting the source and target fields, and dragging fields to map them between the source and target.

Message Mapping in CPI I-Flow

Why Message Mapping:

• Message mapping is required when the receiver system accepts data in a different
format than the sender system. For example, Sales Order replication from
𝑆𝐴𝑃 𝐸𝑅𝑃 −> 𝑆𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑒
• CPI provides a simple Graphical editor for mapping.
• Message Mapping can be invoked from Mapping -> Message Mapping (as shown
below)
• Let us try to create a message mapping based on the reply we get from the Northwind
ODATA service. Create an I-Flow as shown below and follow the steps:

Here we will add a WSDL file to load data configuration.

Here you can enter any name for your mapping:

Click on created mapping and this window will appear:

Source the place from data is coming. Here could be all fields that are coming.
Target is the set of fields that are going to display in response to user/developer.
We will do mapping between Source and Target to map that which field will bound with which
field in target.
We can directly map all fields by click on AB button if both names of Source and Target fields
are same. Otherwise, we have to map manually by drag and drop.

We will add the WSDL file in source and target. SAP has not provided the direct creation of
resources and target mapping methods. So, we always need WSDL files. We can easily
download WSDL files from PI/PO if we have integration there already.

Here we will select files for both source and target.

After selecting the files View will be something like this.

In my case the names of source and target fields are different, that is why I will map them
manually.
Target fields are red because they must be mapped. We must have to map all target fields.
If we do not have any source field for target field then we can also assign constant value as
well.

Here is the complete mapping of fields.

If we click on any target field, it will show the details of the source mapped. We can also add
any function for calculation shown on left-below.

Here you can see the added mapping.

Further you can save and see the I-Flow in monitoring page.

Here you can copy the WSDL link to use in SOAP.
