STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
INTRODUCTION
I am honored to introduce myself as Mr. Sakriya Adhikari, a permanent resident of Kalika-8, chitwan,
Nepal, born on 30-jan-2004.While talking about myself, I am an enthusiastic, highly energetic individual
and always seeking for opportunity to expand my future career and moving forwards with aspirations and
motivation. The learning education, knowledge and gaining of skills have always been the top most
priority for my career.
To my successful educational career, I would like to thank to my parents and all the credit goes to them
for continuous support and motivation. They always drive me forwards to achieve my career. I intend to
pursue my Hospitality Management at University Of Roehampton, United Kingdom.
While working at PASHUPATI PIPE UDHYOK, I sharp my mind and create extremely positive attitude
towards experience and why this is important to achieve my career goal?
My fascination is to turn myself into an established expert proficient in the field of Hospitality business;
however, ongoing education system in Nepal is not suitable as it possesses various difficulties and
irregularities. I, therefore, decided to go for overseas study instead of my home country.
As I was planning to study abroad I started preparing for IELTS test. I took IELTS test on 11 th March,
2023 AD. And secured an overall Score of 6 (listening-7, reading-5.5, speaking-6, writing- 5.5)
After the completion of my higher secondary education, I took some time to figure out what could be my
career in hospitality business? I was able to acknowledge what actually are my strengths and goals. Soon
after I realized that I need a good quality of education to achieve my career goals. It was little hard for me
to decide where to study. After research for a month, I come to conclude the study at University Of
Roehampton, my decision was well supported and praised by my family member as they were aware of
the quality education that UNITED KINGDOM provides.
WHY NOT NEPAL, MY HOME COUNTRY?
As soon as I finished my Class- 12 in management, I began conducting research at various universities I
was familiar with the education system and teaching methodology of my country as I completed my +2
level studies in Nepal. The education system in Nepal hasn’t been fully upgraded, and its curriculum and
students are not provided with the practical knowledge that will be the basis to compete in this globalized
world.
The education system in my country is in poor condition, and the teaching system has diverted my
attention and caused me to seek education in other countries. In my research, I did not find the institutions
and the academic process here in Nepal as attractive as in foreign universities.
Moreover, there is a lack of recent equipment and tools required for practical skills as old and
unsystematic labs are being used from ages ago, which, I believe, might not be the most beneficial and
successful approach to fuel my interest in learning. They are constantly following the same pattern
without any change in curriculum and instructive methodologies. In addition to a lack of focus on
interactive and applied learning, the courses offered are not recognized globally.
On the other hand, I will get an incredible chance to meet students from various countries and become
lifelong friends; learn self-reliance, experience new cultures, gain independence, and share thoughts and
knowledge if I study outside Nepal. Thus, to get a higher quality of education that is centered on real
world experience and for wider professional opportunities, I made the decision to travel overseas for my
further studies. Apart from all these, there is a greater demand for job seekers who have an international
degree. The first large-scale survey to explore the long-term impact of study abroad on a student's
personal, professional, and academic life shows that study abroad positively and unequivocally influences
the career path, world-view, and self-confidence of students. Therefore, to get a higher quality of
education that is centered on real-world experience and for wider professional opportunities, I made the
decision to travel overseas to pursue my further studies. Studying abroad is all about pushing your limits
and venturing beyond your comfort zone.
Basically, the hospitality business is one of the fastest-growing industries here in Nepal. Therefore, the
hospitality sectors are constantly on the lookout for innovation, and now-a-days hotels industries are
demanding that kind of professional individual who can handle and manage the business by providing an
expert innovative idea. In regard to this, I am sure being a returnee of Bachelor of Business major in
hospitality management degree; I can meet the demanding manageable service handling ability which
will definitely accelerate my career progression. Moreover, a number of world-class brands are entering
Nepal and there are rises in demand, particularly for high-level, skilled professionals where they are in
demands of the graduates who holds an international degree. Also, looking after the growing hospitality
business, Nepal will have to produce thousands of skilled manpower over the next five years to cater to
the growing demands of the sector. Every of these mentioned factors clearly show there are higher
demands of the graduates who have the better expertise in the hospitality fields. And of course, I have
better chances to fit in such demands.
Coming back to Nepal, I would like to work as a successful Hotel Manager though there are so many
other career prospective that I can choose to continue like; Food & Beverage Manager, Event Manager,
Public Relations Manager, Sales Manager, Tourism Manager. With my desired position, I want to start
my professional journey working with different national and international Hotel like Hyatt Regency
Kathmandu Hotel Yak & Yeti The Dwarika’s Hotel, Crown Plaza Hotel Kathmandu, Soaltee Radisson
Hotel Kathmandu, Shangri La Hotel.
While working at Hospitality Management industry I expect the commencing salary ranging from NPR
60,000 to 70,000 in initial phase in the increment basis. Along with the salary, I can also expect to receive
other incentives, bonuses, accommodation facilities and communication sub charges. Hence, I am pretty
sure that grabbing the degree of Bachelor of Hospitality Management.
